Lever action assault rifles

Haven't seen the rifle type released to the news yet.

Shot a Marlin 336 last week 45 rounds not even real fast, but 5 shot groups - the barrel was too hot to touch.

My understanding if 45-70 production ceased in the 1960s. As a result Marlin developed and delivered on the 444 Marlin cartridge to fill the vacuum.

Whose production ? Gun's or Ammo ?

Both are going stronger than they were in the 60's, especially since the resurgence in lever actions. I just bought both, brand new.

Last year I had a need for a nice Marlin 45-70, 8 shot. I wanted it to help a friend clear the unwanted feral hogs off his Cattle Ranch and (not on purpose) dog rescue. The Hogs left early last year, he's selling out, and I haven't found the Marlin anyway. The only tacticool thing I want to get is the home defense autoloader shotgun.

So what do you guys think about $7000 to $10,000 lever action assault rifle such as the Marlin Mad Pig in 45/70
Or the Smith & Wesson Mad pig version of the 1854 in 44 magnum.
There are others, those are just two I've looked at.
I have a friend that's absolutely losing his mind wanting one.
Myself I think they're absolutely ridiculous and a poor investment
I've yet to see one on a penny auction on GB, it's always the set price because they know they will not get anywhere near those type of bids, but then again maybe I'm wrong…..
