Lisa's home. I picked up her ashes today.
I ordered an urn for her that'll suit her better than a black plastic box.
It's orange with silver trim and should be arriving this Monday.
The funeral home said that they'd transfer the ashes for me.
You are a great example of the strength of friendship and marriage. Your friends, far and wide, admire you and love you. Lisa will always be missed. You will remain strong.
Shortly after dad died in '99 a friend of his made this for his ashes. Mom put it on her mantel and every special occasion she would put the appropriate hat/decorations on it.
It now sits on my sister's mantel and houses dad's, my brother's and now mom's ashes.
I'll bet you do, Brother. God be with you right now. Know she's with him, with you. And you'll be together again when the time is right - but know your love for her is a beacon of goodness for all in the meantime.
I'm so sorry you're having to go through this - so sorry. Sending you a brotherly hug from the desert.
My belated sincere condolences on your loss. I can only echo the wonderful sentiments of other members here. She was blessed to have you so close at the end of her journey.
On today's hike, I was walking along thinking of Lisa and this Hendrix song popped into my head.
I'm looking forward to Lisa taking me high over yonder.
