Picked this Model 1905 forth change up at a local gunshow this weekend. Seems like a little old lady (80s+) came in to sell her deceased husbands'S&W .32. She had been carrying it around for self protection for several years and had the hammer bobbed so she could get it out of the purse. Trouble is there were 6 .32 S&W Long rounds in the bottom of the purse wrapped in a paper towel. The gun is a 32WCF.The purse came with the gun. Security did not find the 6 rounds in the bottom of the purse. Gun is about 90% less the hammer.

Don't knock the .32 S&W round, it's a good one. I've had seveal of these thru the years. Buy a box at your local gun shop & shoot it, you will be suprised.

If I remember right, .32WCF is .32-20, that's why it was problematic that the woman had the .32 long rounds. But the .32-20 is a neat chambering if an older revolver like this was loosened by someone firing rounds meant for a rifle through it in ye olden days.

I sort of wonder at who bobbed the hammer for her and what they thought about it though. If a gunsmith was involved, it's a shame that someone didn't make sure that she had the proper ammunition.
