Long row to hoe, so need your prayers (update at post 40)

Larry my heart goes out to you. My wife and I just took time to pray for you and your wonderful wife. God says He will never leave us or forsake us. My He comfort you and lift this burden from your shoulders. May God show Himself to you and your wife in greater way than ever. Trust in Him, he knew this was coming when he created all things. Nothing surprises God. He will always get us through it. Jesus loves you and your wife personally, always remember that. He knows you both intimately and better than any other person. Be encouraged, Larry, He is right there beside you. Blessings.

Can't add a thing to this ^^^^^^^^^^^^^

I'm sorry to hear about your wife's condition, and am praying for healing and comfort for her, and for guidance for the Doctor's hands and thoughts.

Prayers from here for her complete recovery and for your peace of mind. We have come a long way in stroke rehab. My Dad had a major one, and was back on his feet and living a normal life in a couple of months.

Prayers and well wishes for a speedy and complete recovery for the mrs. and strength and endurance for you Larry.

Prayers sent. I believe this will be your finest hour. This is the chance for you to take care of her every need to show your love for her. Once she has recovered, she will know you love her and your marriage will be better than ever. I went through a similar thing with my wife three years ago. I did everything for her. Everything. I took her grocery shopping and pushed her through the store in one of those kid carts for older children. She would tell me what to put in the cart and I would do it. We bonded tighter than ever. I was proud to take care of her. Good luck to you both.

Eat, sleep and poo.
focus on these needs first, and the rest you can figure out on the fly.
Priorities can do a lot to whittle down the remodeling workload

Update; Moved her to rehab Tuesday afternoon and got settled in for the long haul. Therapy 5 times a day. ADL (activities of daily living) first thing in the morning to wash/bathe and dress. Then a couple each of occupational and physical during the day.
Yesterday morning the eval was "0", no movement. At lunch time she tried really hard and got her fingers to move. By the time therapy came around she wowed the therapist by making a fist and then straightening out her hand. Today's sessions resulted in more improvement with being able to roll her wrist and limited movement of the elbow to move her hand left and right and up and down. Added bonus was she was able to somewhat wiggle her toes and flex the ankle. It made me happy and confirmed my belief of the power of prayer. Thanks to all of you, Larry

Great news it's a start for her and like you said she has a ways to go.

More prayers out for you both.

James 5:15
And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.

Larry, your wife and you are in my prayers for healing, patience, optimism, and abiding faith, and I hope you will continue to come to the Forum as you are able, to receive whatever He has for you here, from those of us blessed to walk beside you in this.

I'll pray for recovery for your wife and strength and endurance for you.

We found out 2 weeks ago that my wife had a 3 inch tumor inside her heart. Last week she had open heart surgery and is recovering at home. We thank God , a great surgeon, a great recovery team and many people that prayed for her.

On your remodeling , just a suggestion...contact your local church to see if anyone can help you with that. Usually they have people that are glad to help.

Phil 4:6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;

Norm

Prayers sent because prayers work! Glad to hear she's doing better. At this rate, prognosis is good.

Tuesday night, my wife of almost 47 years, had a stroke. She was supposed to get a nerve block Thursday, so the doctor wanted her off of the blood thinner she takes because of afib.
She is in fair spirits most of the time and was moved to a regular hospital room this afternoon. Some time next week she will be moved to an in-patient rehab for three (?) weeks of intensive rehab and hopefully come home.
While she need prayer most to regain function of her left arm and leg, please don't forget me. While she is in rehab, I will find out how drastically I need to remodel the house to facilitate her needs. Right now as I sit here, I am physically and mentally on the ragged edge but gaining hope and finding I can withstand the long days and nights of no sleep to encourage the lady I love.
Thanks in advance,
Larry
