I'm kind of new to 29s but it had a 6.5" barrel, bright nickel, Pac grip installed but also had a factory wood grip and original box. In my eyes it was as new. Very tight minimal wear. They wanted $800. Good deal? Production year 1960? Thanks.

I also looked at a nickle Colt Python right next to it which was 3x more $$$. I've never seen a Python and may never again. It was a beauty.

I agree with the above. The frenzy over the Pythons continues to amaze me. Although it's a nice revolver, it's hard to justify the prices they command, and there seems to be no shortage of folks willing to pay for them. Almost a better investment than the stock market..

If you confirm that it is a 29-1, think of it as being discounted 2/3 or so off its true value...

Have you bought it yet? :)

Wheel fan, if the 29-1 had a factory original nickel finish (look under the grips or on the face of the cylinder for the letter "N") and is in high condition, that could be worth more than $3,000. If the stocks and case are also correct, you could be over $4,000. Maybe higher. There are very few documented 29-1s and very, very few with a factory nickel finish. When you check under the grips, look for any numbers and a "R-N" in a box. These might indicate a factory refinish which would significantly lower the value, but would still make it worth much more than $800. Posting pictures will also help others on the forum (like Doc44 and 29-1) help you better estimate the value.

Currently, there are two known 29-1s with a factory nickel finish. If this 29-1 has an original nickel finish it would be the only one known with a 6 1/2-inch barrel.

Thanks all - false alarm. The price was switched with a 629 the 29 is gone. It was a dash 2 and I don't know how much. They apologized for the inaccuracy...

How about a 28-1 ??????????????
