I lost a buddy this past weekend.

Charlie was my four and a half year old Shetland Sheepdog.

People that should have known better, let him step in front of an oncoming car.

I rushed him to the vet e-room, but the damage was done and he died in the back seat of my truck on the way.

I don't get too attached to pets. But, he was special. He was sweet and gentle. Very loving. He loved to go for a walk and a ride. I couldn't take him anywhere whithout some kids wanting to pet "Lassie" (for a Sheltie he was VERY big).

My nightly walks just will not be the same without him.

I wish to add my condolences as well. I pray that he will find the Rainbow Bridge quickly.

...the fact that you made your post above shows he was special to you...mine are to me too...always tough losing one...

Really sorry for your lost. I know the hurt been through too many times.

My wife tells me "If I could get along with people as good as I do with dogs we would have more" Oh well

I can feel your pain.. I love Shelties. Had to put one to sleep a couple of years ago, face having to do it with another very soon.

Loosing a pet is harder than losing a family member for me.

It will take some time, but remember there is another dog out there that needs someone to look after and love, so do your part.

Sorry for your loss palmetto99. We have 4 dogs and love all of them. Know how you feel.

My life long all time worst nightmare.
Sorry for the loss of your pal.
In fact, opening dog threads is so heart wrenching sometimes, I can't bring myself to do it?

I'm sorry also and I bet another sheltie is looking for someone just like you.
