M&P 15-22 Picture Thread

Depends on what I am doing.. If I am shooting like a Mall Ninja it's not too high. If I am using the BiPod I would rather be on the cheek piece with the optic on the flat top. It only takes seconds to change the config. But I've always LOVED carry handles and I've never really been a big fan of flat tops.

I have the same opinion about the carry handle and I would like to put on a scope but i don't want it to be uncomfortable

Depends on the scope and mount. With one of those weaver adapters mounted on the carry handle and then scope rings... there can be a lot of lift involved. My Colt 4x clone sits right on top of the handle. From the center of the sight aperture to the center of the scope is only about .75 inch.

I really like the Magpul forward grip. I have to get one. Where did you get yours and how much?

I'm really enjoying mine so far. EMod, VFG, some rail covers and an AimShot RDS are the only things I have done to it.

Thanks Skidder.

Not really, was considering a set of Magpul BUIS, but just don't want to sink any more into it right now. I built it as a cheap way to practice carbine drills, and I wanted it to feel as much like the Entry Carbine as I could. I didn't put on a light but that is about the only difference.

I chose the AimShot because it is similar in shape to my EOTech, and has a circle/dot reticule.

Run the drills slow with a 22LR and pick up the pace until you have the drill down, then run it a couple of times "at speed" with the 5.56 carbine.

Saves a little on ammo, and just too much fun.

Jerry I am trying to keep mine kinda simple also. Are the rail ladders worth the $$.

Phil I here ya. I try to deal with reputable dealers or those online that have proved themselves. This is not the economy to be screwing people. Fastest way to loose future orders.

I think so. I have them on the sides of all three of mine; Entry Carbine, SPR, and 15-22. I like the way they feel - no edges gouging my skin or snagging on the gloves.

They were designed to "protect" the hard anodized aluminum rails - those may or may not need it. But the polymer rails on the 15-22 might just need a little protection.

I originally had MagPul XTMs on the sides as well as the bottom, but it was a little fat for me, and I have pretty large hands. I like the round XTM on the bottom with the ladders on the side to square it up. Nice and thin, and grippy.

All totally subjective.

When you are as fond of toys as I am, you will try to justify any purchase !!

Phil is spot on Rip... On my setup since I have a "Facog" that is actually an RDS you see there is a battery compartment where the ACOG Peep Sight would be... Because of this, the Facog doesn't fit into the carry handle like a real one would so I have to use the carry handle rail + rail on scope and that's a good inch of rise. It's ok because I'm shooting CQB style if I am using the RDS and the stock is retracted and I am not using the cheek rest.

I SO badly want a real ACOG and I will probably wind up with one since my plan is to build my own custom M4 A1 eventually, so if I am buying the ACOG for a real M4 I can almost justify mounting a $1400 optic on a $500 rifle :)

Magpul AFG arrived.

I really like it. Much more natural way to grip the rifle than a broomstick IMO.

I've seen them but didn't think it would be comfortable. But now that I look at it and think about how I would be holding the gun with one on I think it would be awesome. So I'm gonna buy one now, lol.

Just received my barrel back from Belt_Fed with the Midway USA flash hider attached and it looks great.

No need to post a pic; it looks like the new factory flash hider. The work was quick and was done right. Very pleased.

Not a great pic but here is mine

Still not sure if I will leave the iron sights with the red dot or dump the riser and go red dot only. If we ever get an above freezing, non snowing weekend I will get to really try it out. So far I have been limited to a few round in the back yard.

Big fan of the Larue clips! Cannot remember who recomended them but I found a post here and had to give them a try.

Belt_Fed (Brett) does great work... and he's a super guy too.

Heres the rifle as it is for now and a target to show its progress.. target was at 44.6 yds all groups were rapid fire but 1(test group) and the paper should read 2 20 shot groups my bad not 2 15 shot groups no sleep will do that to you.. all are out of bags

only mods to the rifle are NCSTAR mkIII 3-9x42 scope, caa front grip, hogue grip, tacticrayola, a barrel shroud applying alittle pressure to the forearm plug, some trigger work, and 11* target crown

TxShooter2k9, do you remember who the seller was? I am having trouble finding an adapter that looks like it will work, and is worth the $. Sounds like you found a great deal. Do you still like it now that you've had it for a couple months?

Just received a flip up mount for my Primary Arms 3X magnifier.
