M&P 15-22 Picture Thread

At first I didn't really like the tacti-crayola look, but I decided to try it out, and I like it.

I see someone else has decided to also color in the S&W logo on their magazines. I hadnt seen any one that had done this before I posted pics of it (NOT saying I was the first to do this, but Im pretty sure I was the first to post pics of it lol ), and now it seems to be catching on. To me it just complets the overall look of the rifle to have the mag's S&W logo to be seen/stand out that way. Thats a nice looking set up you got there.

What kind of compensator do you have on the rifle, and did it work with the stock threads or did you have to re-thread it.

Heres a few shots of my favorite rimfires! Actually the walther is considerably more stealthy when suppressed! only a small click! even though all you hear from either is the action cycling!!

My version of the S&W 15-22 MOE edition:

Barska 3-9X42 Contour Scope
Tapco Riser
LaRue Index Clips

I know I posted my rifle about a week ago along with pics of the covers on the mags( inner-tube turned inside out, did same for the grip). But since I have updated the rifle with some extra ladders, a new stock, and a different scope. So I figured I may as well update the pictures of it here as well.

If you notice I changed my red "fire" and 15 22 text to bright orange. As it seems every one and their brother were all using the red lettering for that. So I wanted to be diferent. I also colored in the up and down and number markings on my rear iron sight with orange.

Since we can't ever leave well enough alone, here is my 1st Gen and my brother's painted MOE. His is wearing my Vortex Strikefire until his Strikefire (and my killflash) get here. Both are also wearing Beltfed's extended charging handle latch's. Why change out one when you can change out two?

He still has to get an AFG for his, but I don't think he'll take the Dremel to his.

I'm pretty sure I'm done this time. I got some .5" risers for the red dot, and have it back up front where I like it, and it is lined up right with the iron sights. The guy at the store told me they were from a Bushmaster rifle. The risers are far enough forward I can take off the red dot and put my scope on with the 1" utg riser.

Surefire G2 held on with 1 inch Weaver rings
CenterPoint laser sight
UTG 5-position foregrip
Tasco RedDot
.5 inch risers (2)
Bushnell 4x Scope with 1 inch Weaver rings
UTG 1" See-through riser

I used Magpul XTM rail covers for the sides and bottom and hard rubber ladder rail covers for all exposed slots on the top rail. I have also ordered a stubby foregrip and a NcStar Mark III 2-7x32 scope for more precision and accuracy over 50yds and for varmit sniping. I will add a sling swivel mount on the left side rail at the front end below the front sight and mount a two point sling to that and the existing swivel in the butt of the stock. That is all I plan to do for now.

Here is the sighting in process at 50 yards on a bench with small sand bags for support. I used CCI mini-mags and this is with a reflex sight which has 4 different reticles. Started shooting high to the right, I brought it in to the small black "stick on" circle that has rings at 1/2 apart while adjusting with each shot. the last five shots hitting in the smaller black circle sticker with the final hitting the bullseye, (pure luck!)

Okay I got the Quick release stubby foregrip mounted

Sweet looking gun. I love your rail covers! Interesting that all the lettering on your lower receiver is white. That looks cool. It came like that? I bought mine last month (I live in CA) and the lettering on my receiver isn't white (just engraved into the polymer).

Nope he did what nearly everyone else has been doing for years now on the lettering on their weapons.. Used a CRAYON, and rubbed it over the lettering.. and then rubbed off what was left over with a rag with some cleaner on it. The crayon stays in the lettering, and looks like its factory. My 15 22 is white and bright orange, just to be different as it seems everyone uses red and white colored crayons. For example here is my rifle. The first 3 pics show the lettering fairly well.

Aha! So that's the trick. Cool! Thanks for the info. I definitely need to do that "crayola" trick to my rifle then. That just makes it look so much better! :D

Well, I might as well "chime in" with a pic of my rifle as it looks currently:

I'm going to replace the current rail covers I have on there (they are just cheap airsoft rail covers) with some Falcon Low Profile Rail Covers that I have currently on backorder from Botach.

You might be waiting a while for those. Just make sure they don't charge you until they ship.

Without going too far... Botach has great prices, but it seems their customer service and business practices have burned people in just about every corner of the shooting community.

I should go digging for some crayons. I haven't added or changed anything with my rifle in over a month!

My 15-22p - Swapped out the factory sights for a Midwest Industries flip-up rear and Magpul front. Added a LaserMax red to the underside.

I love this gun. Just under 1000 rounds through it with only 1 failure to eject and that was a Remington Golden Bullet. All CCI flavors that I used performed flawlessly.
