Here's the latest version of mine and how it will sit until I pick up another ACS stock to replace the airsoft EMOD which is on it now. I used one of Tacticool22's free float barrel adapters to attach a delta ring and barrel nut and a clamp-on quad rail gas block to retain a handguard end cap so I could mount a Magpul MOE handguard and MVG. The handguard end cap had lots of play, so I added a 10/32 screw through the gas tube hole and into the gas block. Now, it's rock-solid. It's painted with a Rustoleum self-etching primer. The handguard should match the stock and grip with a little more handling.

Tacticool22's adapter made it easy. It was harder to find the parts locally than it was to put it together.

Awesome, shawnr5! My next step is to nail down a good way to add an MOE mid length. I've been saying that for a few months, I know, but it's hard to find enough money to get into a project like this for me.

Did that gas block need a spacer to fit the barrel? Any end plate for the handguard, or just the gas block on there? I'm looking at this one to get both a traditional front tower look and a folding sight.

I think I found a suitable airsoft clone of the LMT Sopmod stock that I may order soon as well (same site as above). As much as I like the look of the EMOD I heard through the grapevine they were disliked in Iraq due to the seam for the tubes catching on beards, and I keep a full beard.

I bought some .032" brass stock and cut a length that was long enough to go half way around the barrel. I ended up having to dremel out the inside of the block a little. If I had come home with .016", I wouldn't have had to modify the block at all. You will need a handguard cap and make sure to get the round one for the M4 handguards. The AR barrel is 0.75" vs our 0.669", so there will be play when you install the handguard. I put a10/32 socket head cap screw through the gas tube hole in my end cap and into the gas block and now there's no play. If I have some time tomorrow, I'll take some pictures. It would be quite easy to do a mid-length or rifle-length handguard instead of carbine, just tighten the gas block at the appropriate point on the barrel.
As far as the stock and your beard, the ACS shouldn't snag you either. Just one more option.

First post from a new member here. Proud to be a part of such an informative and awesome community. I just picked up my 15-22 on Sunday and I already have to admit I'm addicted, not just to plinking at the range but figuring out which attachments I'll throw on next. Some of the pics I've seen in this thread are RIDICULOUSLY cool and have helped me plan out a goal for what my m&p will hopefully someday look like. Here's what I have so far:

2x2.5 scope (taken off my mossberg's slug barrel)

My 15-22 MOE

This is my guy. I got it on the Monday after New Years and have joined the Tactical 22 insanity. I know it kills some people to use tactical and 22 in the same sentence but wait for it....I don't care!

Anyway, I've done a few things to it and I think I'm at a stopping point except for spare magazines, which if you guys aren't aware, MidwayUSA is selling them on sale for 15.99 until the end of February. I bought one at regular price about a week before the sale at 19.99 and they were cool enough to credit ny account $4 bucks for the difference. Now on my next payday I'll get 3 more at that price minimum.

My eldest son gave me a nice Magpul version with a red dot scope and hard case for Christmas and the wife gave me a Henry Goldenboy.
I must have been a good boy, or no one caught me.

Unfortunately the rife, as it stands, is classified by NY state as an assault rifle and illegal. So I have had to park it over the state line until I can 'fix' it. I have already traded the barrel out with a guy to get the untreaded version and I'm looking into either pinning the stock (not my first choice) or changing it for the Magpul PRS version.
