She is finished for awhile, I'm at a stand still on it. I'm seriously debating on painting it desert camo or a bouchy tan. Any suggestions?

Hey guys just got my 15-22 a few weeks ago and I'm loving it. New to the forums so thought I would throw up a few pics.

I've got a bipod and a 4x32 scope on the way

Battery Assist Levers

Tactical Link Battery Assist Lever

There are four popular battery assist lever manufacturers:

Magpul: BAD Lever
Phase V Tactical: EBRv1 and EBRv2 (EBRv2 is a full replacement)
Tactical Link: Standard & Enhanced Battery Assist Lever
Troy Industries: Ambi Bolt Release

Did you have to modify the rifle or the Tactical Link lever in any way to accept this part?

The Magpul BAD interferes with the receiver trigger well and the magazine release button. One can bend the lever to accommodate the trigger well, but there is still the problem of clearing the mag release button, which knocks the lever and allows the bolt to slide into battery before a mag is replaced. Does the Tactical Link lever clear the mag release on the left side of the receiver?

I am contemplating buying the Phase V Tactical EBRv2 for my M&P15-22. I have one on my 5.56NATO custom built AR with billet lower and billet upper and it clears everything, including the operation of the mag release. Just curious about the Tactical Link device.

The Phase V Tactical EBRv2 won't work because the 15-22 bolt catch is drastically different in shape and size.

The reason these battery assist levers don't fit is because the bolt catch, to accommodate the shorter 15-22 bolt, is positioned too far forward of the magazine release screw (little circle on the left side of the mag release). The standard AR mag release screw is positioned almost directly beneath the nipple on the lower part of the bolt catch, whereas on the 15-22 the bolt catch is positioned a little more than 1/8" forward (left) of that point.

Thanks.

Unfortunately it was how the 15-22 was built, I've seen every Battery Assist require modification

took me a while to find my post but here is the pic

as for the mag release, but normally don't push all the way and don't have a problem with it releasing it. I did though just tried it right now and and does push on the lever...

I've been reading that the MagPul B.A.D tends to beak after 500 rounds. Issue was brought up to MagPul about it.
I had it on my LMT Defender 2000 and put a well over 1000 round through it with no problem.

I may get a Tactical link or the Troy for the 5.56

Its a Spikes CAR-1.. ;)
OK, I've been scratching my head for a couple days and I have to ask. Everything I have read about the CAR-1 and similar shrouds is that they go the other direction (i.e. they add no length to the barrel). So, is your CAR-1 installed for photography purposes only (which does look really cool), or do you actually shoot it with the shroud in that orientation.

15-22 Got a new paintjob!

Finally done! Got a paint job by a very good Ex Russian Special Forces friend of mine who is now serving in the US Army. I think it turned out very good!
