M&P 15-22 Picture Thread

cjt50,

The optic has performed fairly well. The Red Dot has never been able to
be sighted in, there just isn't enough adjustment to deal with the whacky
22LR ballistics with the red dot being so high above the bore. But the
actual scope has performed well enough.

Thanks for the reply, lgs has a straight 4x for $60 (sans red dot), might just try it.

Finally got my replacement cut lower receiver for the MKA1919 and was
able to swap it out to convert the MKA to take any regular AR Pistol Grip
and a collapsible stock.

Brett,

Where do you have your tail cap switch mounted? I'm looking at an MP15 MOE/FDE in the next two weeks and want to add a flashlight for an upcoming hog hunt.

I am real OCD and really don't like the tape around the switch and grip methods I've seen.

I know Magpul makes an illumination kit. Looking at possible the matching FDE light from Primary Arms (is that what you are using?

If you have some close up pics... I'd like to get some ideas for placement.

Thanks!

Ask and you shall receive!

Yes I am using the Primary Arms Ultimate Weapons Lights in FDE and in Black, both with the tape switch cap and using the Magpul MOE illumination kit panels for the tape switches.

Either the generic or the Surefire tape switch plates work, but if using the surefire plate you need to cut out the little serrations.

Excellent! I don't like making modifications. Lol. Think I might just go with PA for the light.

Looks like your thumb would rest comfortably close to the switch.

I am looking at the AFG2 as well. I have it on my MP15-22. Looks like my accessories on my 15-22 will be migrating to the MP15 :)

Thanks again!

This is not "modding" it's trimming a little bit of plastic away from the
MOE tape switch panels (they are made to be trimmed). Easy peasy.

And IMHO the only way to get a nice "finished" product.

Alternately, you could forgo the tape switch and just use your thumb to actuate the tail cap switch.

Gotcha. Thanks for the advice. Is there a comparable Surefire light to the PA-UWL in functionality and in price? I see/hear Surefire and I think $$$. Lol.

That's what I figured. I can't see myself paying that kind of $ for a flashlight that might get used once a year.

Thanks!

i get my weponlights, well all my lights fro dealextreme.com they run on a variety of batteries (all mine are rechargeable 3.7 volts) and they are waaaaaay less and very good quality compared to the surefire. the only surefire i have is a 6p that DX had a replacement Cree head for and it is bright.
i can't see investing that much into a regular torch. now my ND3 green laser illuminator is the ***** for night hunting!

The UWL Gen II from Primary Arms is $109.00 with a tape switch or $89 without. It's a 500 Lumen CREE X6 and will run in 2 CR123 or 3 CR123 mode, it's all machined T6 alloy. It's damn near as nice as a Surefire for far less money. Plus it's Primary Arms... If you have issues they will stand behind it.

A few other notable features would be the Chromed Aluminum Reflector (not plastic) the double multi coated glass lens, the replaceable LED Module, the extreme shock protection etc.

i agree, great light, no arguments there...i was just providing an option to a page that has lights, mounts, etc with good prices, although the wait from HK and not buying American might turn some people off, although the Surefire guts and basically any other torch guts are made overseas.
I'm just frugal with my money, so i buy the best for the buck and equal to a 'brand name' product (except optics, they are always top tier). plus the torch has to pull equal duty from a AR-10 down to the 15-22 to the bedside when i rotate them out.
i like the fact that i can get my recharge batts at just a fraction of the cost of those bought locally, from 2030's to 18560's, with chargers and have not had a bad one ever.
basically with a MaHa recharger and a couple others, i never have to buy batteries again, except for the smaller button type.

Great photographs everyone who posted photos of their M&P 15-22LR rifles for the ones who didn't post the pictures so we can look at those beauties. I'll be posting more photos in the next few months of my M&P 15-22LR I changed a few things on the rifle. I am tied up with a project that involves Amateur Radio & NXDN ''digital mode'' and it's taking most of my time but when I can and I get a free chance to I'll post couple of photos of my rifle.

My MOE model touched up a little. I really like the built in single point sling. Sweet little rifle!!
