I have taken my gun class. As soon as I can gather enough for the application, in probably 2-3 months, I will have my CCW. I am looking at all kinds of IWB holsters. I see lot of responses on the Shield but not many on the MP40. Right now I am looking at the Galco and Crossbreed. Can any of you offer real-world advice on what you carry your MP with? I tuck my shirt in most of the time. I guess I will have to change my dressing habits? I have other "newbie" questions later. I appreciate any advice and feedback you can offer......SD.

Crossbreed FTW.

I wear mine everyday. My button up shirt is tucked in. The clips are the only way you'll know i am carrying. No one has ever 'made me'.

I have a whole drawer full of IWB & OWB holsters, but my everyday holster for my M&P9 Compact and now my Shield is a Crossbreed Supertuck. My wife just got a Remora holster that she wears daily for her M&P Shield and loves it. I have tried it as well and it would be my second choice after the Crossbreed. The Remove doesn't use metal clips...it just stays where you put it. Nifty concept.

Just remember that whatever you decide to use you will need to practice, practice, practice. Good luck...have fun with your gun.

I use a standard Nate squared IWB holster, it's very comfortable. I think I'm going to get their pro version with the kydex instead so I can practice my draw more easily.

I love Crossbreed but I love Old Faithful holsters more.

I have never heard of Old Faithful or Remora. Good info. So let me ask another question. After I bought my MP I kind of wish I had gotten the Shield instead (fearing the MP was too big to carry). Do you have any issues carrying the MP? I really like the feel of it. The gun shop didn't have any Shields available at the time and my son in law was all about the Glock 23 but I chose the MP for the feel. I will type these suggestions in my phone for reference when I buy so I can remember the different brands.

I love my FS9. I have smaller weapons but I choose to carry my M&P. I trust it. I conceal it well and I don't feel the weight. I like knowing I have a real pistol on my hip.

Dude there's people concealing a Glock 20/21 which is thicker and has a larger grip, which is the hard part to conceal. I'd carry a full sized gun if I could get away with it, I believe in carrying the biggest gun you reasonably can, but living in hot & humid Miami makes this challenging. Lol

I carry a M&P .40 in a Crossbreed Supertuck Deluxe. Carrying it all day is not a problem. Very comfortable for conceal carry. You will have to dress around your gun. Go with pants 2" bigger in the waist as well as your belt. I live in South Alabama where it is very hot and humid during the summer and I have no problem concealing my M&P in the Crossbreed holster.

I carry my M&P 9 in a MTAC by comp-tac. I like the fact that you can change the kydex portion and use it for different firearms. They have many kydex shells for sale and you save A little money not having to buy a whole new holster. I have used the same backing for three different guns now.

The M&P Shield works nicely in a pocket holster.

As far as the M&P full size, an IWB is nice for range work or if you are sure you will always have on your suit coat or sport jacket. If you plan on taking it off, however, you need a belly band type holster.

The one sold by Gould and Goodrich is excellent, as is the one sold by Magill's. This type of holster has the advantage of not being able to see the belt clips or other fastening method on the so-called "tuckable" type of holster. The visible clips are a dead giveaway. Plus, they are easier to put on. The "tuckable" type is very awkward and clumsy when trying to pull up your pants and tuck the shirt between the holster and the belt clip. Frustration all the way around.

Go with the Crossbreed Supertuck or Galco King Tuck....nothing else compares.

For now I carry either my FS or 9c in a Safariland 18 IWB. Suede outside kydex inside.

Looking at getting a Theis or Fist #20 for them next.

I love my Comp-tac minotaur for my 45c, its secure light and comfortable.

Recently got a raven phantom so I can carry it with a TLR3 light. Works great as well, but not quite as comfortable as the Comp-tac.

I also use the Minotaur by Comp-Tac for my shield and my 40c as well as any of my other M&P's here is me with the M&P40 fullsize with my holster on.

I am not a large man and wear tight clothing jeans and an tee shirt mostly. I am 5'6" and about 140 pounds.

Shirt tucked in! You can see the clips of the holster but not the weapon!

Shirt untucked fullsize 40 in view but barely!

Holster beside the gun.

This is my choice for at least one reason great comfort and conceal-ability, as a man of my small stature it is great and should work for just about anyone. A full sized 40 caliber weapon with a shirt tucked in and in the dead of summer. Usually I just wear a light Woolrich vest Elite Tactical vest and it is no problem at all even in 98 degree days!

This is what I use for my M&P 9F and other pistols. They are very comfortable, it hides the gun like no other and is cheap compared with other IBW hybrid holsters
