M&P 9c I'm confused

I have a fairly new M&P9C that is 1 1/2 months old. I do not know when it was manufactured. My trigger was always smooth, not gritty. I did have a rare front site issue after about 150 rounds (I posted about it).

Other than that, I really like it. The ergonomics are great. There are a lot of pistols that I tried that just did not feel as comfortable to me as this one.

I have a 40c , about 2500 rds thru it so far and I think that I have had 2 (TWO) malfunctions so far. I assume that I caused them by letting the thumb drag on the slide or maybe limp wrist. I have shot all types of ammo, alot of inexpensive bulk ammo. This is my carry gun and my favorite gun. Yes the front sight white dot fell out but that is all. This gun is hard to beat and for the cost , I don't know if you can beat it!!

I had the same problem with mine but it was the rear sight white dot.
Anyone know the best way to fix it, white paint?

My 9C has functioned fine so far - no feeding problems of any kind. I own three M&Ps (mid size .45 and a 40C are the others) and the front sight dot has fallen out on all three. Annoying, but I was going to replace them with night sights anyhow.

I have a M&P 9c and it is the best pistol I own. After many many rounds it has never had 1 issue. Trigger is the best thing about mine. Very easy to shoot well.

My agency transitioned to the full size M&P9 in 2006. We bought an additional 200 M&P9c's when they came out with the gun, to be issued to undercover officers who wanted the smaller platform. No pattern of any issues so far with either gun.

I bought a M&P9c shortly after they came out. The only issue I have with it is the same issue I have with all M&P's. The texturing on the grip is too smooth. I stipple the removable back strap with a soldering iron. Problem solved.

For years, I carried a Glock 19 on my own time. I went to the range one day and compared my ability to shoot the Glocks against the M&P's. My intent was to shoot the Glock 19 against the M&P9 fs, and my Glock 26 against my M&P9c. I ended up outshooting my Glock 19 with my M&P9c! (As a side note, I can shoot the full size M&P more efficiently than the M&P9c).

If you like the M&P9c, then I wouldn't hesitate to get one.

I have a very early 9c, I had to change the magazine catch, S&W sent one and it went in without a problem. The part is obviously different and I haven't had a problem since.
Remember, this is a Forum where problem issues predominate and those with no complaints generally don't post to brag.

Who is pleased.

I have a 9c and a 45, both 2011 manufacture. They have both been reliable and accurate. If and when the white falls out of a sight, I'll just paint it back in with a toothpick, have done that on other guns.

Thanks to all for your opinions and experiences. I will be getting the M&P 9c within a week or two. It felt great in my hand and was my #1 choice in the first place. I'm getting excited again. I do that when I'm getting a new gun. I bought the S&W Governor 3 months back and my wife said I was like a kid with a new toy at Christmas. (again). :D Don't you just love it...
