Thinking on a M64 3 inch that I saw in a LGS today. They want 300 and I'm thinking 250. It's been shot some judging from the cylinder ring and the general "sooty" look. Has some dings and scratches, one pretty good one along the cylinder. Locks up tight and no fore/aft movement under lockup. Whatta think?

I'd buy it at $300, unless it's really a beater. If not and you can get it for less. It'll be a steal.

That is not to bad a deal, SS usually cleans up real nice with a little work
Is it a round butt? 3" K frames (A+) what more can be said.

I got this one for about $275. I love it.

I like the Laser Grips too.

I really like my model 64 -3". $300 sounds like a good price. I would get it.

gunner, I would try to talk them down, but would pay that price. As mentioned, the stainless finish is easy to make look new. Flitz, or Mothers mag Wheel Polish. I just got a 65-3, 3". Also have a 67 no dash. The 3" guns are nice, and it seems that with concealed carry, they are getting much more popular! Let us know how you make out. Bob

3" 64's and 65's are in high demand right now..........for $300 that gun won't last long.

I prefer 4" 64's and 10's, but if I had the $300 to spare and I saw a 3" 64, I would suck it right up:) S&W ain't making any more of these!

Buy it. They aren't getting any cheaper....

The only "new" equivalent is the 4" 64-8, and those run you $550.

A forged part, older 3" 64 for $300, that's in good shape and tight? Snap it up!

My condolences. I had a bad feeling at the start of this thread just thinking about walking out of a store selling a 3" inch 64 for $300 -- that's the kind of thing these forum guys have nightmares about.

Sorry you missed out on the 64. Another will come along, when the time comes be prepared to "pull the trigger"...

I'm a big fan of the 3" K frames and the blurring motion of me whipping my debit card out of my wallet would have to be measured in nanoseconds had I seen that deal (of course after a brief, but not-really-caring, attempt to get him to lower the price).

I predict that there is precisely a ZERO probability that you could not get your 300 beans back out of that deal should you ever change your mind.
