Does this handguard have Picatinney rail mounting on top? I can't tell from the pictures. And any idea who might have it in stock? Midway says overdue. It apparently is also longer than the regular MOE handguard.

Judging by the pics on the Magpul sight. It does not appear to have a rail on top. Sight also says Fall 2014 for release. Not that that means anything.

It's very similar in designed to the current MOE handguard, but thinner. You can attach rail sections or mount-in-slot attachments to the 3, 6, and 9 o'clock positions, but there are no rail sections built in and as far as I know you can't mount rail sections at the 12 o'clock position.

It appears to go farther forward, covering the front sling attachment. I wonder if the sling attachmen has to be removed.

It looks as if it does. Wouldn't bother me at all though as I never use the sling attachment on the sight post anyway.

Finally had an opportunity to try the Magpul MOE handguard for my AR15 Sport. I really like the feel of it. However, I'll wait for the SL model to come out [Fall, 2014 according to the Magpul site]. I also bought the .70" buttpad and installed it. It's not necessary for recoil, but it does give a better shoulder fit. I did strip two 1/8" hex keys getting the old screws out, but the screws held their sockets. Magpul has quality parts.
