I am new to this forum so if I break protocol on this request please forgive me. I am building a database of my firearms and I want to include the manufacture date, or an "as close to" date as possible. I read somewhere in here that if I submit the model, caliber and SN I might get some help. Here goes.

48-4 .22 WMR 18K7720
66-2 .357 Magnum AAT7295
332-1 .32 H&R Magnum CFS8744
422 .22LR TCJ8428
617-1 .22LR CAD1990
642-1 .38 Special +P CCW1715

Any help is apprecuiated.

Thanks.

48-4- 77
66-2 83
332-1 02
442 89
617-1 95
642-1 98

the ones starting with 3 letters are a bit of a maybe and could be off a couple years, as S&W didn't exactly go AAA AAB AAC or even AAA ABA ABB. Jumped around a bit with the letters

Welcome to the Forum

steelslaver has already supplied you the years as they appear in the published lists.

If you are still in possession of the original boxes, 98%+ of the time, the actual date of manufacture is printed on the computer generated label (introduced in the 80s).

It is a 4 digit code under the title "SPEC ORD"

The 1st number is the last digit of the year, so you need to at least know the decade of manufacture to properly decode the number. The remaining three digits are the day of manufacture in Julian format.
