There will always be people against altered states of consciousness. There still is the WCTU, that was greatly responsible for prohibition. There are problems with alcohol, there are problems with marijuana. I just don't believe in someone being made a criminal who hasn't actively commited violence, destruction, or theft. I am very curious as how authorities are going to regulate and control supply and quality. It may be a way to test contraband, and if it meets state standards, it could be purchased and moved into a "legal" state, and distributed and taxed according to law. When I was a boy in Texas, the punishment for simple possession (a felony) was 2 years to Life. A guy I knew was given 10 years probation for a roach in the ashtray of his car. A black man or hispanic would serve serious time. We have way too many people in jail now, for stupid stuff. We don't even have room for many really bad guys. It's got to change.
