Too bad they don't have the shorter 10 rounders yet. I could easily go for at least a couple of them.

Yeah, exactly what I was thinking hehe. Need some for Appleseed but this is a good deal on the 10/25's & 25's.

Maybe I'll just bite the bullet and get a three or four of the longer ones and just make a couple of short 10 rounders and even shorter 5 rounders out of them.

Dangit i just bought 2 today @ 23.99. Oh well no shipping. Thanks for the heads up though

S&W site beats RRages for shorties :)

there $65 each in the UK
OUCH!!!!
I wonder if you could get someone over here to buy them and ship them to you?
It wouldn't be as cheap as getting them here because of the added shipping costs, but its gotta be cheaper than $65 each.
Or is there some regulations against shipping weapons parts internationally.
I know they just started a trail here for some people who were importing Chinese AK drum mags modified to look like the Bulgarian version to beat the regulations.
Why they tried it in NY State is a mystery to me, they are illegal as hell here no matter where they come from.

no i think mags are fine to send i have bought all sorts of rifle parts from China before theres no problem coming through customs problem is i dont know anyone in the US. :D

also when you try to buy online from gun stores they dont entertain sending stuff to the UK they never ship anything outside the US im not sure why.

I ordered a short mag from S&W once. Instead of indicating on their web site they were not in stock they just accepted the order. A week or so later I get a post card in the mail saying they had none to sell. That was enough for me. As far as I'm concerned the S&W web site operates on par with Botach. YMMV.

If I'm not mistaken a business requires a special license to do business internationally and is required to keep records of every transaction.

Most just don't want to have to bother with all the regulations and paperwork the government mandates where even a simple misspelling of a word on paper could cost them a ton of money or even put them out of business.

Shipping weapons and parts for weapons adds a whole new level of scrutiny and regulations that's just too much work for them to bother for small item's like a magazine.

Now if you want to sell someone a new $100 million dollar fighter plane, that's another story where the paperwork and regulations don't seem so bad because the cost benefits offset the loss.
Not to mention the government will help smooth things out if they like the guy your selling to.

But for little things like a $20 magazine, its just not worth all the trouble.

yeah thought as much so that leaves us open to extortionate prices from uk gun stores

I did not know they made a 10 round long. Good to know, thanks. I thought maybe they just used the picture from the 25 mag.
ALL rifles made for sale in states that have a mag size limit (10 rounds) came with mags that were full (25 round) size but 'fixed' with a pin molded into them limiting them to only 10 rounds.
They are easy to see as they use a blue follower instead of the orange one in the 25 round version.
Not sure why they do it, orange would stand out better I guess, but they use the same orange follower in the shorter 10 rounders in place of the blue one.

You can avoid that issue by calling in the order. Not quite as convenient but you'll know right away if they are in stock or not. That's what I did to get my FDE mags.

Oddly enough the 2 25's I order from Botach got here 3 days later, while the 2 10s from S&W took 8 days just to ship and still are not here 12 days after ordering.

hehe yeah, I remember that thread :D That's when they first came out, though. I trust that they have them in stock but I'll make sure to shoot them an email before hand. The dollars I'd save are worth buying from S&W for me.

what does smith charge for shipping 1 or 2 mags

To Chattanooga they charge $6.50 to mail one 10rd short mag and they charged me sales tax too IIRC.

While I have really enjoyed the 1522 I don't like to do web purchases or talk to their CS department regarding the 1522.

Offering my apologies to Botach (you out there lurking, Dan?) for comparing your operation to that of S&W web sales.

I also bought 5 of the 10 round long mags from midway last week. They were $15.99 each and after shipping + my $.94 donation to the NRA my total was $89.00 flat. I would have bought the shorties from them however they were out of stock.

Yesterday I bought 5 of the shorties from ineedmoregear.com and after shipping my total was $88.89 with no option to donate to the NRA. So midway was cheaper by $1 :) .

Anyway now I will have eleven 10 round mags and I am very happy because I will not have to stop shooting to reload but every 100+ rounds. :D

Midway has very good service as I am sure most of you know. I was very happy with them.
