The bullet description says it's "For Utter Destruction"...

Missouri Bullets 500 S&W 400gr RNFP Hi-Tek coated

I ordered some of these & they came today (along with .41 Trooper 215gr SWC-HT I wanted to try too).

They shipped the day after I ordered them & came USPS 2nd Day Priority Parcel. ($14 flat rate shipping fee) They were packaged well.

Dimensionally they look good.

Diameter: .5007" & symmetrical along the bearing surfaces
BOAL: .841"
Seating depth: .525" to crimp groove, .385" to top grease groove.
Avg weight: 397.7gr

They're listed as 18BHN & they do have a flat base with the desired square corners. (The 41's are bevel base.)

These are HT coated red, not my fav but no biggie. The coating on the 500s is a little less uniform than the gold HT coating on the 41s.

I did a acetone wipe test & got some faint red on the white cloth while the 41s didn't show any noticeable gold on the cloth.

Did a smash test, with my 4# hand sledge & compressed them to about half their overal length. The coating seemed to stick better to the 41's. The 500's coating seemed to crumbled more than the 41's or the 45LC's I got from them earlier in the year.

I plan to put together some moderate loads with them this weekend & try them out next week.

.

The coating's tint is actually more maroon than in the pic.

I think you'll be pleased with that bullet.

I shoot their 300gr TCFP coated bullet in my 454 Casull.
It works very well, extremely accurate, no leading at all.
Bore cleans up with just a few passes.

Groo here
For fun try the 41mag with 6gr Trailboss [1/2 gr under max]
with a hot primmer and a good crimp.
Accurate in 5 41mags we tried and about police load level.

I like the glass dish or what is it??
.

It's an irregular shaped glass curio that has several different swirls of colored glass inside it that, in places, looks like a twisted serpent, though slightly different from various angles. It makes a nice backdrop in a well lit spot.

Thanks for the compliments. :)

Ran into the same situation with these as I have in other calibers using their HT coated bullets. Moderate pressure loads, with moderate speed powders, gave light leading past the forcing cone. Slow powders, 2400 & slower, have run fine, but I purchase (relatively) low cost bullets like these for fun at the indoor range (don't need expensive jacketed bullets for that) & not being able to use whatever powder I have/want defeats part of the reason for getting them.

Here's a related post of mine with some other details.

I don't see it on their website? :(
