Mod 60 Defense ammo

My issued ammo for my issued duty 4 inch S&W 686-6 is the Speer 135 grain Gold Dot .357 Magnum. I use the same ammo in my off duty 3 inch S&W 13-3. I use the .38+P version in my Model 10-5 and my Model 37.

My M60 with the 3" barrel really likes the Winchester PDX1. They are 130gr, and may be a little heavier than what you are looking for, but they shoot well out of my M60. You may want to give them a try.

Thanks for all the good info. I think I'll poke around my local shops for some Speer 135gr SB to try. Still hard to find much here in So Florida and think this is true all over. Happy shooting!

Another vote for Speer Gold Dot. I have 125gr LE because I could not find the 135gr version.

I have a pre lock Mod 60 2 1/8 " 357. As I get older I like the 357 ammo less and less. What would be a good home defense ammo in +P or 38 special. Thinking a lighter bullet also. Thanks

I like the Gold Dot short barrel load mentioned by another poster, but I prefer heavy bullets, so I would use a +P 158 grain LHP, the so-called "FBI Load."
