Acquired a used 10-5 several months ago. Made around 1969. It does not seem to have been fired extensively. It is in good condition with the exception of the hammers movement. The hammer deflects to the left just as soon as pressure is applied to the trigger in double action mode. It travels left until it contacts the frame on the left side of the gun. I replaced the standard .265 hammer with a used .375 target type. Have the same deflection problem with both hammers. I have tried various thicknesses of "Power Custom" hammer and trigger shims on the left side, right side and both sides equally. The shims do not solve the problem. The trigger nose and sear seem to be engaging properly. Sear looks to be centered on the trigger with no high spots.
I have come to the conclusion that I have a worn hammer stud. Or am I overlooking something very simple?
