stamped 32-20 CTG on 4 inch barrel, checkered square butt diamond walnut grips..penciled SN# to match the 133591 on grip frame, barrel, cylinder and ejector. Strong case colors on hammer and trigger..both stamped with the patent info. The revolver locks up tight, has a very good bore and about 80% finish showing wear from holstering. Can the date be pinned down...I know the last were from 1940. One other observation..these Model 1905 32-20 revolvers seem to book awfully high in the Blue Book. At 50% this revolver would sell for almost $500..is this a mistake on the books part? Any feed back is welcome...and thanks.

don't have any 1st hand knowledge of the .32-20 caliber. I can quote you the range from the SCSW -

ANIB 2,000
Exc+ 750
VG 415
Good 300
Fair 225
Poor 100

Those prices to me sound about right for pre-war k-frames - that blue book value for a 50% model sounds awfully high. While many prices have jumped in the last year vs. the SCSW values, K frame prices except for magnum stubbies have been pretty static.

The the S/N range is 65,701 to 144,684, 1923 to 1940. Manufacture dates get off in the 30s because of the depression, but mid/late 30s would be a good guess.

coneten,

I have 32-20 HE's 115xxx and 125xxx. They were both shipped late in 1924. I'm not certain and my books aren't on hand right now, but I believe that the 32-20 HE'S had their own serial number range. I would estimate your gun shipped in 1925.
