A friend just used his Anniversary Model 25 for the first time. It immediately had problems only advancing the cylinder intermittently. When he took the side plate off the first thing noticed was there was no torsion spring on the hand. When we looked at the Kuhnhausen manual (pages 148-149) for the Model 25, no torsion sparing is shown. How is forward tension on the hand achieved without this spring?
Second thing we noticed, there was no trigger block bar. We're there models where this was not fitted?

Sometimes the hammer block gets stuck to the sideplate - oil & gunk makes it adhere during removal. Sure it didn't stay in when taken off? If not, they're cheap and easy drop in.

Along the same lines, the spring may still be in there but when reassembled wasn't pushed up high enough to catch on the hand's pin. If the retaining pin on the trigger is still there I'd double check.

I can understand both those scenarios but there was no sign of a hammer block and the hand doesn't have a pin for the torsion spring to bear on. There is no pivot pin for the spring either!

I used to have a 25-3 and have several older model 25s and pre model 45s and N frames. They have a hand spring and except for some WW1 Era guns, all have a hammer block. I think Bubba Fumble Fingers was in your gun. The trigger rebound slide has a pin on it and the side plate has the cut for one correct?

Absent photos I would say you need a new hammer block, a new hand, a new pin and spring. Each are easy drop ins, except for the hand. That usually requires some fitting.

It's always fun getting the little hand spring in place. For me it's more about controlling my tremors.

From many years back I have several Pachmayr 1911 reassembly aid tools. The flat part of it was intended to slide along the frame while the slide stop was reinserted into place. The same little plastic tool is great for fitting inside that trigger and putting tension on the spring while the hand is being inserted.
