I pulled my almost new Model 41 out of the closet after many years. It now fits in my left hand better with Herrett H-41 grips. However I can only get the very tip of my finger on the trigger which makes it hard to pull dead backwards. Anyone else out there with a short trigger finger? Where you able to train yourself to pull dead backwards with only the very tip of your finger? Or did you solve the problem some other way?

I took a rasp and filed the backstrap down to allow my trigger finger to reach better. Mine are the older common grips. I basically took the hump out and straightened the back, like a 45 auto with a flat mainspring housing. It helps, but is no where as close as a Hi-Standard Victor. I took pictures, but can't figure how to get them from Windows Live gallery to the message. I can E-mail pictures, but they won't paste on the reply. I also wanted to show you how I had 3/4" cut off the 5.5" HB.

The Herrett H-41 grips have a small hump which could be remove with a rasp. By the way I have a Hi-Standard Olympic which allow much more of my finger tip on the trigger, much like a Ruger MkII. Herrett makes a .45 style grip, shown on page 5 of Gil Hebard Catalog, but I did a search on this forum and couldn't find a review. Look for an email about those pictures.

I ordered these today. When I receive them I will let you know how they work.
