Hello everybody I will soon be the proud owner of a 52-1 and I remember seeing a post about using a 12 point socket instead of the bushing removal wrench that used to come with these guns. If I need to remove a bushing that is a little too tight it sounds like using one of these sockets would be a good idea. If somebody here has done that I would love to know what brand of socket they used and if they had to do anything special to the socket such as grind the face flat.

Thanks

You don't have to do anything special . I don't use a socket wrench , I tighten by hand . If the previous owner tightened it too tight , you might have to use one . Congrats on scoring a -1 , I've been wanting one to go with my -2 , but I'm always a little late .

The previous owner of my 52-1 had tightened the bushing a bit to tight when I first bought it. I used a 12 point socket to loosen it. Now I just finger tighten it.

Thanks everybody, I understand the part about just finger tightening the bushing so the socket would be just for removing the bushing if it is on too tight.

Hey Mike I have not picket up the pistol yet but I will try that first. Thanks

Somewhere around here I have a factory bushing tool that I have no further use for.
Send me a pm with your address and I will send it on its way for free if you want it.
Bob
