I got a model 60 with excessive in shake. What's involved and how much would it cost to cut for moon clips. Would that be cheaper than having S&W screw the barrel in and set correct head space?
Thanks
Sam
You can correct end shake with shims. If you have an excessive amount of cylinder to barrel gap after shims that would not change by having the cylinder cut for moon clips. If the clips or the cases heads were holding the cylinder forward they would create drag. The center portion of the ejector star is what holds the cylinder forward correctly.
