Hey folks,

Traded into a Mountain Revolver a few months ago. Something I've wanted for a while - specifically the original Revolver bead blasted version, pre-Mountain Gun.

It has a vintage fiber sight on it, which works fine. But I sort of want to try it with the original. Any tips on finding one of the correct geometry?

My First call would be to Smith & Wesson

To the op
Mine came with the plain black ramp and
I can appreciate wanting the original front sight
But
I've found the current sight on my mountain revolver to be much easier to hit with at extended range

I've had 2 Mountain Guns. One had original blade front the other had a green fiber optic which I don't like. I got replacement from S&W. Could have got from Midway USA or Brownell too.
If It's going into keeper status it will end up with plain Patridge front. I don't like ramps or fiber optics.
Both mine came with rubber grips another thing I don't like. Use to be you had to buy Pachs and aftermarket sights. Now you have to buy stock stuff.
A few bucks per unit is saved with plastic and rubber. The big letters on barrel make some feel like they are getting something special.

Well, the fiber that is on it is vintage SDM. But I think I want the original. So far I have not found the right height at Midway. Need to look a little more. No rush just yet.

Have you tried calling S&W yet?
I'd think it's an in stock item, sometimes they even send parts out gratis, either way that's a good place to start.
On a side note, have a few 44 Mountain guns, replaced the black Baughman blade with a black Patridge sight with a brass bead,
Huge improvement IMO.

Did you install the bead or is that a stock option also?
