Hello cody, nice snag on a 39. By the looks of the Bangor-Punta box, if its numbered to the gun, it probably is in the 80K Sn. range? Am I close?

An older one with the long extractor but not with the short safety. Good looking weapon at a fair price. Looks like it came from a good home. Have you fired it yet? Congrats on your new Model 39.

Nothing you or any of us missed- but certainly something kwill1911 saw…!

I’ve got no plans to get any run of the mill pistol lettered. It would be different if you were tracking ownership to a notable or if a scarce or rare variation to document it. I’ve got several lettered S&W pistols & revolvers, that came with the purchase. Basically they just show how they left S&W. Somebody paid $100 along the line.
Couple weeks ago I got a clean 39-2 , with ship/ transfer it put me in at $425. I thought that decent deal and the OPs deal is even better. I have a couple others 39 no dash / boxes , Docs, etc.
One is 95% with 4 digit sn.

Kevin is basing his comment on the Sn. I have looked in my notes with no luck. It probably is a military contract gun.
