Sorry to hear it, man, I hope he'll be okay. My best advice is say your prayers, I see miracles at work every day.

Update; He has two arteries 100%blockage one artery 80%blockage.I spent the day with him yesterday. They did a cath were able to stent the 80%blockage.They will try one of the 100% blockages on Monday. The other 100%blockage is a no go apparently because it is surrounded by dead tissue. He could be a candidate for transplant but he's not too keen on the idea. His exact words to me were "I want to go home and get on with my life or get on with my dying".I told him that he needs to give the transplant more thought and not make any rash decisions, but what ever he decided I would respect that decision.Told him he had to stick around so we could break in that Kimber he bought a year ago that continuosly malfunctions. He said yeah that damn gun still pisses me off.Going to spend the day with him tomorrow.Take him some books.Reading is a great escape, maybe take his mind off some of the worries temporarily. We had different parents, but he is my brother.

Thoughts and prayers coming his way...and yours.

Hope he recovers quick so you can spend more time together.

Pete

I got one of those friends. Don't look forward to us getting older. He cheated death once. Car wreck and the car was on fire. Two normal men bent the truck door bare handed and pulled him free. I hope your friend gets better. Your a very lucky man to have had such a friend. Be thankful for him. Don't forget to tell you love him.

My best friend from high school died of a heart attack nearly 2 years ago. Not even 50 yet .

"You want it to be this way, but it's that way"

Update:He is home. They actually stented the 80% and one of the 100% arteries.Told him the other 100% was making its own bypass.Fitted him with what they call a life vest.He sounds good and determined and is very thankful for a second chance. He has attitude which I think is a good thing and is not depressed.I asked him about being on a transplant list and he said yeah I guess I'm on a list but kinda' sidestepped it so I let it go.My brother is home and I thank all of you for your thoughts and prayers. You guys are the best.

The older I get, the more precious true friends become. Thoughts and prayers for you and your friend.

This day is coming for all of us. I'm glad you are able to look back and see a wonderful life with your friend. I'm also glad he's home. I look forward to a range report of a fixed and perfectly functioning Kimber.

I'm glad your friend is doing better and hope you all make a lot more memories together for years to come.

I have a feeling that they'll be able to fix his diseased heart a lot easier than you all will be able to fix that Kimber!!

Very happy to hear your friend is stabilized, and back on the road to a happy life. It's amazing how good medical care is for heart disease these days. 30-40 years ago most people would not have made it through similar situations...

My prayers go out to your friend's recovery! What a blessing to have such friends in our lives.

"tacreload" ~ Tell your friend he has to go for it - if for no other reason for his wife, kids, grand-kids and all his friends like you.. I've worked with transplant patients in the past and most of them do very well. UPMC is also top notch in the transplant field and transplant is nothing worse than typical bypass surgery. If there is that much damaged muscle, he won't last long so please beg him to reconsider. My prayers are with him and wish the very best of outcomes for him.

I hope there is more.....

When I was in heart failure the doctor said I had a very close call but I responded well to medication and he said I was given a second chance at life However it turns out with your friend, the main thing is that you ARE friends and we all have to say goodbye at some point but getting a reprieve is a great miracle. Praying for the best outcome.
