My 27-2 shipped in January of 1964. Has a S240XXX serial.

Mine is S254XXX. Right on the cusp of 64/65.

My first was a 1976 purchase of a 29-2 4". At that time, 4" was only available, because it was not as popular as the longer barrel models.

How things change.

There were probably lots of little used 4" 29s floating around back then. There were stories of new 29s being bought from inexperienced shooters that included a full box of ammo less six rounds.

Come to think, my first N frame was a nickled cased 25-5 which I (sniff sniff) traded for who knows what.

Mine was a model 27, which now resides with someone else.

Followed by my 28-2.

This is my first one. Model 28 Highway Patrolman. It made one Med deployment and two WestPacs with me. I used it with .38s in it to teach two LTs, four petty Officers and one prospective NCIS (NIS back then) agent to shoot. The grips were made a couple of years ago by our own Kurac and probably are the largest remaining pieces of the USS Koelsch.

My first N frame was my second .357 Magnum S&W, a Model 27-2, 6 1/2 inch. In a moment of rank stupidity I traded it in on a Colt Combat Commander 9MM which was one of the worst firearms I've ever owned!

Luckily, I've since replaced the long gone 27-2 with a pristine 8 3/8th's barrel version and numerous other N frames, but I still would like to have the first one in my safe.

1st 29-2... 8-3/8"... had to have it
2nd 57 ... 4"... lucky me

That is one beatiful 29 and the pics do it justice!

It was 1983, I bought a 29-2 8 3/8, which is in the safe tonight, having survived college ( 10 years and too many moves to count), apartment life, living in a rented atic or worse, marriage, kids, houses, moves (again), uncertainty, death, business upstart and all the daily living that goes between it all. Heck, I guess I'll keep this one a while.

Here's mine a 28-2 4"bbl
I hope i keep it forever. Plan on doing so. It is a great shooter.
My walking gun.

2010. My dad just died. I inherited his 10-6. I wanted adjustable sights and something in .45 Colt to go with my Ruger and Rossi Puma.

I love that gun, lock mim and all. I've picked up a few older guns since.

A pair of 25-2s.

That 29 looks so nice you should never shoot it. I just said that in jest. All my guns are shooters.

mine was a model 57 with 8 3/8 in. barrel, it has been gone a long long time. wish i had it and others back.

I've owned guns like most shown, but the first N was a .455 MK II.

Bought it at Gart Bros. in Denver about 1965. Cost was $31.58, if memory serves. Condition was NRA VG-Plus.

Alas, it was among several guns that I had to sell later for college tuition when GI Bill checks were late.

My first and only N frame is my 629-4 which I recently acquired. I've got some pictures on here under some of my posts. There certainly are some beautiful pistols pictured here. dlbx2's is amazing.

My first S&W, a 25-2 with 6 1/2 barrel and display case. I Still have it, shot a lot, still looks great. I bought it as new at a show in 1977 for $325.

This 25-5 6'' was the first "N" for me. I bought it new in the early with the presentation. I never shot until; a couple years ago and put about 25 rds. through it!
