those psychopathic killers i have on the payroll have staged a revolt.
they no longer come to call.
i can shout my lungs out n no one comes,
i have to leave the garden door open.
5 minutes later, drifter waltzes in.
10 minutes later, cud scratches on the front door to come in.

so, they no longer obey me, but have decided that curfew is
a good thing, at least.
i'd beat them with clubs, but that wouldn't do any good.
part of my problem is they no longer think their curfew treat is
wonderful.
if anyone knows something that kits love above all else,it would be a great kindness to tell me.
for 2 years friskies pate was all it took.
i bought this friskies shreads, but only drifter likes it,

i suppose i could refuse to let them in n maybe they'dd shape up, but it;s too nice out now.

on the plus side, cud left me a dead bird next to my trees .
i sure wish i knew how he did that,
there are no ground crops to draw birds, just my trees,
i also found feathers from a very big bird out front this morn,
i guess cud killed n ate a road runner.
i read cats don't bother beeps because of those wicked stabbing beaks, but no one told cud that.
this doesn't make me happy. beeps kill rattlers.
nothing i can do about that tho.
if my guys see anything they can kill, they kill.

Sounds like they're pretty satisfied with the live kills they get to eat outside of your garden as they prowl about! Amazing that cud can catch a road runner! They're supposed to be mighty fast, besides those crazy sharp beaks. I'm glad that they're able to take care of themselves so well out there while they're protecting the fig trees from the vermin. Happy September! Is it harvest time yet? PS, a friend I knew used to give her cats canned sardines as a treat. Not sure if they're good for them as a steady diet, but they'd come running when the can was opened [emoji2][emoji81][emoji81] All's well here right now. Taking a ride to NJ next week to see my best friends. Taking Logan with me for a few days. Rob's staying home with Jackson. Have a good Labor Day everyone [emoji2]

They probably like stuff switched up now and then so it stays exciting... Like when they hunt, they never know in advance what will be out there that day so it is always an adventure. I know you don't like cud going after the road runners because they catch Rattlers, but can you imagine what he thought the first time he chased one? Must be better than meat on a stick (lol) Have a great day [emoji6]

judging by their eagerness to ge out, it must be an adventure. as soon as i get up in the morn, they rush to the door.
if i go start coffee, cud comes to meow at me.

they come back n scratch at the door after an hour or so,, to get breakfast, but then they leave 3 minutes later.

the only time i see them is when i go out to the garden for a few hours.
they stay with me, but only as long as i'm outside.

they may not like a/c.

Happy Labor Day as I prepare to do a 4 wheel brake job on the Colorado pickup. Got all premium parts with 25% off + free shipping to the house. Now to get working before the hurricane arrives. We'll have rain and some wind, too far inland for strong winds.

My wife is now providing breakfast and supper to the neighbor's outdoor cats. I think she likes the "critter time" without any overhead. Dry Purina is not expensive and the same food they get at home. 'Where is home? ' is the question.

happy labor day guys.

hoho, eng has cats.
he thinks he doesn't but he does.

there won't be any mice or rats around his place.

good for mrs eng.
feeding people that kill your pests is a proper thing to do.

Hey, guys....I forgot to tell you that yesterday, September 1st, was Lucky's second birthday!! He got some new toys to play with....here he is with a new mouse or fishy or something on an elastic string and wand...he is giving it heck!!

He is right around 13 pounds now...caught up with Bella!!

Best Regards, Les

totally cool pic, les.
lucky looks every bit as silly as my cud .
i sure wish i had a scale.
cud is huge but i don't know his weight.

i seem to recall the vet saying that 8 lbs is average cat size,

Hey....I haven't put anything on YouTube for years....thought I'd forgotten how....let's see if this works... here's Lucky playing with his "mouse"...

Edit....I just watched that...a video only a pet owner could love. Not very exciting, but at least I remembered how to do it!!

Best Regards, Les

well, i tried to look up cat weight on line.
one site said 10 lbs, another says it varies by breed, from 5 to 25 lbs.
since no one recognizes ''feral'' as a breed, i can't find out the proper weight for mine .
i'll settle for healthy looking.

i love the vid, les.
i never get to see anything like that,

that sorta thing scares my kits,

well, now that i talk to my kits all the time, i wanted to see
if their vocabulary increased to dog amounts.
that is not working.
i don't think i can measure intellegence that way.
i think it's a personality thing.
dogs learn lots more words, but that's because dogs think everything i say is important.
cats don't.
they learn words that are important to them, like garden, outside, supper. brush, etc, as fast or faster than dogs do.
they ignore everything else.
i'm not sure how to rate cats v dogs as to intelligence , but vocabulary isn;t the way.
what i know is both are smart enow to keep themselves alive.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE1
i hope things are as nice for you as they are for me.
th house smells great with a turkey roasting n perfuming
everything.

better, i'm snowed in.
the house is full of cats.
cuddles actually went out in the snow for a bit, but now you couldn't get him out of here without a lasso to drag him.
drifter took one look at the snow n thot it was an insult.
she just went back to the couch to wait for spring.

they'll be happy later.
i havw some hamburger defrosting for them,
that's the only human food they like besides milk.

Glad you and your kitty family had a good Thanksgiving, Susie! We're expecting some snow Sunday and Monday. Can't wait to get Jackson and Logan out into it. I'll send pics if we actually get the snow they promised. Stay happy warm and dry [emoji175][emoji175][emoji3][emoji3][emoji3587][emoji3511][emoji322]
