Just got a new SW22. First time out and it would jam/stovepipe about every third round. This was after a good cleaning and lube at home. Did some research on Youtube and it seems that many of this model suffer from misaligned ejector bars. I followed their advice and bent the bar tip inward towards the center-line about one MM. This ensures that the bar gets behind the spent case and not alongside it, for proper ejection. Going to the range on Weds. and will report back if this fix works. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Sorry to hear about your Victory problem. I also read that they were a bit finicky about ammo. Three years ago I was torn between buying the Victory and a Browning Buckmark Camper. Of course I was concerned about problems with both (seemed more with the S&W22) but in the long run it boiled down to price. I got the new Browning, with rebate for $200.00. Sweet shooter, no problems.

Most of the Victory's don't seem to be ammo picky except for those cursed Thunderbolts. Mine eats the golden bullets and Federal Match ammo without a hitch. Once you find the ammo it likes you'll love it.

I'm betting that with some careful tweaking of the ejector like you have done it will be up and running like a champ. I have used both CCI SV and Federal-walmart bulk pack high velocity in mine and it never misses a beat.

My Victory started doing that after about 700 rounds. I had S&W send a new extractor assembly which helped but didn't cure it. I then bent the ejector in a touch and it works perfect now. About two years of 100% reliability with pretty much all ammo.

Mine has been fairly reliable as long as I clean it and run it wet. My largest problem with it is that as a lefty I need to be real careful with the placement of my hands to avoid either turning the safety on or taking empties to my support hand and having them kick back into the chamber (or not fully eject).

"say something nice or don't say anything at all" says that familiar voice in my head.

That is a breathtaking and gorgeous photo, so stunning that even a S&W "Victory" cannot wreck it!

Just posted in another thread but will repeat here. I also had the ejector problem but sorted that myself. Yesterday realized my rear sight elevation spring was missing! They are sending a new one but just asking if the screw goes inside the spring?

Part of my ejector fell off

I had similar problems with a new S&W22 Victory. I was using Remington Goldens which is all I could find. I cleaned it before using. Initially the first 100 rounds had quite a few bad FTE. I recleaned it and it ran well for another 100 rounds or so but then completely messed up with major jams. The gun range guy took a look at it and said my ejector was broken. I found a small piece of it on the deck. Calling S&W to see about sending back to be fixed.

Throw in a couple of Bond girls and you're good to go!

Pretty picture, hope the SPECTER thugs don't show up. Sorry to hear that anyone has issues with their new .22 pistol. As much as they cost reliability should not be an issue. It really amazes me that as simple as a .22 is and as many as they have made Smith's r&d built this mess. Some of my Woodsmans are over 100 years old and still run better than the ops nib pistol. And look better but of course that's my opinion and we all know what opinions are worth. Hope you get it running. As far as safeties go, I carry one of my Woodsmans when I'm on the farm and always use the safety. Had a couple moccasins get too close last month and it came in handy.

Had one a few years ago that wouldn't eject properly. It was terrible.
Bending the ejector into placed made it a 100% pistol. I bet yours will be, too. Good luck.

I just checked my book and it's been almost 4 years since I bought my Victory. I remember the VERY first round I fired after purchasing did not eject.
I thought "here we go", the stories of many Victory problems are true.
Cleared it and it has been flawless since. I've since added a Tandem Kross trigger and red dot sight. It goes with about every trip to the pistol range and is my 8 year old grandsons favorite shooter. Its usual diet is either Federal Match or CCI but it's been fed about everything. If I had one complaint, it would be having to be conscious of your grip. Until I was used to it, I found myself occasionally bumping the safety on.

Hope I didn't just jinx myself.

I'll be totally honest, the first time I saw the Victory, I thought it was a very ugly pistol. Then I begin to read a lot of comments from owners on the forums and had an opportunity to buy one on sale. I have since upgraded the grips, trigger, and put a halo on mine and it has now become my favorite pistol to shoot.

The Victory seems to have more than its share of teething troubles, but once they get going seem to be good pistols. That said, I prefer S&W's other 22 lr products particularly the Model 22S. Still too cheap for a Model 41. Good luck at the range!

I have an S&W22 Victory with less than 200 rounds through it the range guy said the ejector fell off. I found a small part on the table. I have seen continuous comments of ejector failures for 8 years with these guns. I wish I found this forum before buying. Is mine an aberration or can't they fix these guns? I'm sending it back to S&W to hopefully get fixed but am not too happy or confident. I also have a Ruger III that is a pain to clean but very reliable with good ammo. It only likes CCI Standard Velocity or mini-mags.

Truthfully, I kind of wish the ejector on the Victory was a little more robust, or possibly even replaceable, but mine has been problem free so far.

Bend the ejector? I shot 50 rounds yesterday and another 50 today using Federal Semi-Auto and I have to clear it after every 1 or 2 rounds. I don't even know what the ejector looks like.

Brand new and doesn't eject

I shot 50 rounds yesterday and 50 rounds today, both times after thoroughly cleaning. I have to clear it after every 1 or 2 rounds. Clearing after 2 rounds has become a treat. You guys say to bend the ejector. I don't even know wat the ejector looks like or where it is.

I think S&W ought to make a recommendation. They should be embarassed.
