I ordered this before my wife lost her job so I had to take possession of it or I would lose at least 10%, beside that, I wanted it.

Here are some pictures of the 6906 with a TDS66xx serial number.
It was dry as a bone, clean as a whistle and very little if any wear on the rails, barrel, slide etc. I don't think it was shot all that much. BTW, I tried to feed empty brass from the mag because I heard that these can do that--nope, can't do that.

I will shoot it in the next week or so and report back on the performance and accuracy.

What tactical purpose does feeding empties from the mag solve for you? Or is it part of some kind of parlor trick?

Congrats! I think you will really enjoy your 6906. I liked mine so much that I acquired its blued brother(6904) when one showed up at a local gun store.

Sorry to hear about your wife losing her job. Hope her job hunting efforts are fruitful.

I have a friend whose P97 will do that - my P90 won't, but that doesn't mean a thing, as you note. I'm sorry that my teasing remark got other people talking about the "feeding empties" thing, because what I mostly wanted to say was, "Nice gun!" :)

I particularly like the shot from above - it brings home how nice and compact this little double-stack is. Not much thicker than a 908, huh?

6906 trade in...

I've been in possession of mine for a few weeks and I like it. I purchased mine through CDNN Sports and it has the same markings as your pistol. A few months back I purchased the all SS model 5906 and it is a very nice pistol as well. Given a choice between the two however I would keep the 6906. It is handy enough and light enough to carry in the field and the 12 plus one capacity is more than enough for my purposes. To my surprise the 6906 prints better than my 5906. This would seem to defy logic given the longer barrel and heavier weight of the all steel pistol. They both have single action trigger breaks right around 6 pounds, so that doesn't seem to figure in the equation either. They both print better than I expected so I have no complaints......

Erich, don't worry about it. I guess I started it by introducing the topic at the get go. The top view shows that there is little to no wear on the barrel hood. I sold a 908 recently because it just did not feel right in my hand. I bought this on a whim, but I really like the way it feels. I also have a M&P 9c and love the way it feels, as well.

My 6906 has functioned 100% so far. Next trip to the range will test my first 9mm reloads.

I'm more concerned with a firearm ejecting empties rather than feeding them.

Very nice 6906, congrats!

BTW, the only pistols I own that will feed empty brass are my 645's, 4506-1's, 4566's and HK USP 45's.

My 9mm S&W's don't. Might have more to do with the brass than the gun....dunno. I do know that the S&W 9mm's feed any and all live 9mm rounds! Very reliably too. :) Enjoy that 6906. Regards 18DAI

Right on, Handlebar. :)

I wanted a 469 soooo bad back in the mid-'80s, but wound up not getting one. Eventually bought a 6946 from a friend who needed money and really loved it. (Sold it back to him on his request when he was flush again.) Nice guns.

Nice looking pistol you got there, i love my 6906, of the S&W 3rd gens iv had over the years its near the top of the list of most liked.
