My stupid state...

I bet that it will cut down on robberies- because thugs won't be able to get a plastic bag to either put over their head as camouflage, or to carry the money out with. :p

since about the only items such as pickles , olives and booze are still glass what do they do with all of the plastic bottles?

them plastic bags make great packing material when shipping items and beat the heck out of the price of bubble wrap......

I got this one.

Here Waste Managementhas given us recycle containers so we can sort the ^#*^#!! trash for them so they can turn around and SELL the recycled glass & plastic. Yet we don't get a break on our collection charges.

In my last job two customers were involved in that industry one made the machines the other did the recycling. Pretty interesting plastic bottles were sorted my type/color then ground up to small pellets and sold to injection molding companies.

As a hunter I'm very much for anything that helps to preserve hunting habitat in any form and I fully admit I have selfish motives.

So, if I go to Kalifornia, buy a Happy Meal for the toy, put the toy in a plastic supermarket bag along with a goldfish, hang the bag from my AK-47 and carry it through SF, how many laws have I broken?

Seen on the SF Bay bridge: A nice old GMC pickup with a sticker reading: "If you have anything in mind, do it now, before they pass a law against it." That's Kalifornia in a nutshell.....:D

Maybe it'll put a few loggers back to work--and create some small game habitat in the process...

As the Ruffed Grouse Society says, little trees need hugs too.

I always ask for paper anyway.

The bags really aren't the problem, it's the idiot cashiers that refuse to put more than three items in each bag, even though it can hold 4 x that.

Seems as though they would much prefer people to use those reusable cloth bags.... the ones with who knows what growing in the bottom of them because they never get cleaned !!! Way to go LA, can't balance your own budget but can save your citizens from the threat of plastic bags.

those in "control" like to ban things...plastic bags in L.A.....illinois hand guns in public............

anything else to add to the list...............

Plastic bags are banned in most of the towns on the Outer Banks of NC and have been for several years now. I think it's a growing phenom that is slowly spreading.

The plastic bags are great. You can loop 7 or 8 over each arm and make one trip from the car to the kitchen.

After reading about the possible cloth bag bacteria issues. My 1st thought was"what are these people buying?". Then I thought anything is possible so maybe I should look. The wife observes the final inspection asking the obvious wife question, "what are you do now?" . When I told her 1st words where where did that come from? Gun forum, Hunting forum or Car forum along with you're an idiot laugh.

I've learned that apparently wives do toss these things in the laundry from time to time.:D

I never liked plastic bags anyway. It took 6 plastic bags to carry what 3 papper bags can. My wife started using the cloth tote bags??? I must say I like them better than paper bags now. I'm the designated Mule and I can get a weeks grocery carried in with one trip (just the two of us).

I understand some companies are starting to make bags from Corn husks. They are Bio-Degradable and opening up some new US jobs. Also giving farmers another opportunity to make some $$$.

One less demand on Oil is a good thing (plastic from petro chemicals)

Another benefit is that you can reuse the corn husk bags to wrap tamales.

Home Depot had these reusable bags for pretty cheap that had plastic clasping handles. ...

But now I actually have to buy bathroom trash bags...

Also very handy if you clean up after your dog.
