“My Top Three” photo thread. (3 Total)

For me it would be these three as I have been down sizing my collection.
Model 27-2 My favorite of what I have left

Model 17-4 my most accurate

My first a Model 10-5 given to me by my Father

I knew your dad's gun would be in there. She's a beauty! ;)

My 625-2 45 ACP Model of 1989 (bottom revolver on first picture below). Supremely accurate and my go to Bullseye revolver. And my 625-5 in 45 Colt. Just the coolest revolver I've ever owned. Don't know why but it is. Both with 5" barrels and Nill grips.

My Model 16 customized by Bowen into a Model 14 configuration, but with a Python fast-twist barrel (1 in 14") and tight match chambers on the cylinder. Again, supremely accurate, especially with the original WW white box 148 grain wadcutter (for standard Bullseye matches), but accurate as well with American Eagle 158 RN ammo for Distinguished Revolver shooting.

My top three aren't my nicest three (well, maybe #2 would be in my "nicest" group), but they are the three that have the most meaning to me.

#1 is my 2.5" 66-2 that belonged to my Dad.
He passed away suddenly at only 63, seven years ago. At the time he passed, he only had three guns - the model 66-2, a nickel S&W model 38, and a Beretta Cheetah. He wanted the 66 to go to me, and the other two guns to my two sons when they were old enough to have them.
My Dad kept the original box and receipt and I was able to find them when I helped his wife go through his things. I have the original magnas, along with a set of Hogues that he had on it. I decided the gun needed something special so I contacted Patrick Grashorn and told him what I was looking for. He sent me these no bark Stags, and I think they add the perfect touch to this special gun.
I don't shoot the gun that often, only when I feel like I need to bring back fond memories of me and him going to the range to spend some time together, wasting ammo.

#2 is my 3.5" pre 27.
This one has only been with me for about 6 months. I turned 50 last July and my Mom wanted to get me something special for my milestone Birthday. She gave me a price range to work with and told me to pick a nice gun! Thanks to a board member here, this was my 50th Birthday present from Mom.

#3 is my 4" Registered Magnum
It's been with me for only three weeks and it's my first Registered Magnum. Nuff said ;)

EDIT: Now a lot of you did n't play fair..or I misunderstood. I saw the title and since it was in the 1961 to 1980 section I assumed the 3 had to come from there..I will post a 2nd do over : )

One of these

One of these

Model 60 2nd year of production 1966 (possibly 1967) (This one is being lettered. I am not sure if it is 1st or 2nd year production) Based on Roy Jinks book this might be a little later 3rd year as it has the flash chromed hammer & trigger) But it has features of a 1st/2nd year gun too... hence the Factory Letter)

Consulting the holy book of armaments chapter 2 versus 9 to 21...

THREE is the number of S&W's thou shalt count and the number of thine counting shalt be Three...
Four shalt though not count nor shalt though count two unless it is whilst proceeding to Three ............

FIVE IS RIGHT OUT !!!
