I like 4gr of W231. This is my range load for 158gr SWCs.

Here's my load with the only difference being I'm using Zero Swagged bullets vs. cast.

158gr SWC (Zero Swaged)
4gr W-231
WSP
Mixed Brass
OAL: 1.480
Measured velocity: 740 fps avg. (out of a 5" M&P)

My 158 SWC Unique load is 4.3 gns Unique, 158 gn SWC cast from a Lyman 358156 W/O gas check, BAC lube, any standard small pistol primer, any make brass.

For me this shoots 1" high at 50' from my 4" 10-6. Which is about where I want my shots to go.

The Hodgdon webste has data.

Unique will be very good. Anywhere from light loaded 4.3 to the max listing of 4.9.

I'd stay with 4.3 it's very accurate.

Good luck.

I would think you could use cast load data,
Like in lead bullets.

HERE is one of the best places for online load data that I've found.

i use the hogdon data often for much of my reloads but they don't list one using unique in this caliber.
