New 2.0 Compact vs old Compact

I picked up a new S&W M&P 2.0 Compact yesterday, I was surprised to find out it has two 16 round magazines, I thought they were 15, but this is great, now I'll have 17 aboard, I was sold on this trigger as well as the steel sights, the grip is perfect for me, and fits my hand like a glove, now for some range time as soon as I can get away to do it...

That's strange. Mine are 15

I would think the 1.0 compact will get the 2.0 treatment as the subcompact. I'm not sure if I'll end up with one or not. First I've got my sights set on a new Shield 2.0 to go with my 2.0 compact.

In checking things out the 2.0 compact had the same grip profile as the Shield with the 8 round magazine inserted.

I have a 9Compact - being called a 1.0 version. I have large hands. Is the grip of the new 2.0 Compact longer, better suited for large hand shooters? What are the comparative grip dimensions? I have the magazine extension on mine so I can use the 17 round magazine, but makes for a very long grip. All comments appreciated! Regards, Ed

The 2.0 compact has an almost identical grip length to a Glock 19. Think 1/4 inch shorter than the full size.

They probably will drop it and keep the Shield line since it is doing so well. That is my guess, but then again, I have no clue. LOL! Especially if the new compacts are doing well with sales.

I believe the MP9C will be Archived as was the MP9FS. As for the MP9 Sub compact, S&W already has one. It is called the M&P®9 Shield M2.0™

I think the only differences between the M1.0 & M2.0 grip is the length, texture and an additional grip insert.

Overall Height of the M1.0 9c is 4.3", the Overall Height of the M2.0c is 5.0", so its grip is not quite 3/4" longer, so I'd say it would be easier to grip with large hands.

Thank you very much!! Exactly the info I had hoped for....Best Regards, Ed

I've always been fond of the M&P line. I considered them "tweeners" due to their size comparison as the fullsize fits between a Glock 17&19. The compacts, between the G19 & 26. Although I've railed in the past about the quality of the stock triggers. I've found the accuracy of the compacts on par with the Glocks I have worked with. So much so that they have turned into my EDC. I actually prefer the size of the original compact as it makes a much easier carry. Although I like the new compact, I can't see myself purchasing one and replacing my current Apex'd compacts.

3/4" is not too bad. 2.0 Compact mags might make a good wintertime/heavy clothing carry mag for my 1.0 40c if somebody will make some decent spacers. 13 > 10.

I guess I could try cutting down some XGrip spacers.

I just came home with my new 2.0 C in 9mm. I really like it's size and the full grip in the hand. I had the 1.0 compact in 9mm, but it never felt right because the grip was to short. My new 2.0 will become my EDC after I run a couple hundred rounds through it.
It fits perfect in my Sig P229 OWB belt holster and with a small modification, it fits perfectly in my Masters Shoulder holster.

M&P 40C... 1 or 2?

Holster makers must be pulling their hair out. It was bad enough before.

For those of you who self-described themselfs as "fat" (and even not so), they make iwb holsters that cover the gun grip. Love the grip in my hand, but it wreak havoc on my "love handles". I just ordered one.

If you saw me the word "fat" would not be in quotations. Lol

I sent my slide off to Robar for their NP3 finish and as soon as it returns I'll post some photos.
