Our store just got 3 new bg's w/o the laser. Removed the mag, but it wouldn't go all the way back in unless I pressed the mag release button. Is this a new feature of the new bg, or just another screw up? I didn't try the other 2 we had, but looks like I will tomorrow. Anyone else have one who can comment? GARY

Sounds just like the original BG 380. They do that at first. It's just a break-in issue. Mine go right in now.

My new M&P bodyguard was also extremely hard the first few times and had broken in nicely.

I noticed that with mine, thought it was designed that way, but didn't seem to be a good reason for it. Will see if it gets better with use, only have maybe 50 rounds through it as of now.

I have noticed that the way that works varies from gun to gun. Some, such as the BG380 have a notch in the magazine and a catch that meet at a hard right angle which means the mag goes in much easier if you press the release while inserting the magazine. If you apply enough force you will overcome the spring pressure on the catch. Others, such as the Ruger SR22, have a beveled area on the magazine that pushes the catch out as the mag is inserted such that no manipulation of the release button is required to affect insertion of the mag.

Mine was the same way... Give it some time and it will break in. You can use a little bit more force in the beginning and it will work without depressing the mag release button.
