New Life for an Imported Model 10-5, and Questions

Yeah I can’t imagine anywhere in NC where a 4” 38spl wasn’t sufficiently well heeled. Unless you encounter an Appalachian Big Foot. Now that will require Buffalo Bore Outdoorsman loads.

Gosh! I was told that the 2" barreled revolvers were from Canada and they were shipped without the barrel because of our laws and Canada outlawed the 2" barrels in their country, even for their law enforcement. So, which is right?
Seems like I recall several posts about the CAI "JP imports" a couple of years ago that had their 2" barrels removed in order to be eligible for import. IIRC several folks around here bought them as project guns.
Your AFTER photos show a gun that cleaned up nicely, even though it is somewhat "finish challenged".
She may not be the prettiest girl at the ball, but the real question is, can she dance?
I hope you will follow up with a range report on this one.
If it is mechanically sound and shoots well, for $200 you got a bargain, and I'd just shoot and enjoy it for what it is.
Like I said in my previous post, I'd buy as many like that as I could for that price.

A long time ago I got into a deal where Colt Series 70 Nickeled Government were being sold for $200.00. Bought all I could afford, cleaned them up and polished them. Then sold them like hot cakes for $350.00 and was happy! Wish I had them now.........

Range report. Took this refurbished Model 10-5 to the range today. It is AWESOME. Reliably punches holes right where I want them and feels good doing it. The K Frame Magnas and a Tyler T-Grip are a perfect combo. I'll probably not have anything else to report regarding this revolver but it will certainly not sit unused.
