Hi all, new member here, just joined the 617 club on Sat! Picked up the 617-4 w/6 inch barrel in the pic at the local Cabela's. Have been reading the forum for a while and picked up lots of good info! In in the past month I picked up an M&P 15-22 (sorry, no pic yet) and this piece...

I didn't steal it, but got a sub $700, so I walked away happy. Came with all you see here, including the Uncle Mike's holster.

Would have really preferred a 4 inch barrel, but am extremely pleased with this one. Will keep looking for a 4 incher too!

Serial number is CDD2XXX, any idea on its age?

Ran around 100 rounds of Blazers thru it and then had to quit because it got dark. GREAT handgun.

Congrats on joining the club and the DOB looks to be early 1999.

Congratulations! I'm looking forward to picking up a 4" 617 after seeing Nutnfancy's review on YouTube "Masterpiece of Fun." After spending $75 on relatively inexpensive bulk load ammo at the firing range for .38 Spl. and .357 Mag. practicing with my 686's, a .22 LR revolver will pay for itself before you know it!

Enjoy!

The only thing better that a pair of 617-0s is two pairs!

My only gripe is that the ammo I shoot in these as well as my 1911 .22LR conversion kit is on backorder until March. Anyone know where a guy could score 500 or 1,000 rounds of CCI 40-grain MiniMags? I'm down to 600 rounds left.

I'm a big fan of the 617-4 also. Here are my two wearing Ahrends:

You will enjoy the 617 for sure. Especially the cost of ammo today. I have a 6" and had a green Hiiz put on and a set of Hogue Cocabolo wood grips put on. Polished it up by hand with Mothers mag wheel polish. Looks good....:)

I enjoyed my 617 so much, I picked up it's big brother last Sat at the Rapid City gun show! It is a no dash 686 4 inch barrel with the M recall stamp. I got it for five bills, which I felt ok about...doesn't have the original wood grips, a previous owner must have swapped them for the Hogue monogrip it has now. Serial # is AAJ4XXX. what y'all think?
