If it was just the money that was an issue......

Amen to that!
And they certainly shouldn't be paid a few THOUSAND times more.
They also shouldn't be paid a few thousand times more than the teachers that try to educate our children either.
Or the cop who walks the beat.
Or the fireman who rescues people.
Or much of anybody who does something TRULY worthwhile and meaningful.

There wouldn't be many soldiers, firemen, policemen....or even teachers among other occupations.

I haven't watched football in a long time, even before the kneeling fiasco. But it did turn me from disinterested and apathetic to actively disliking the sports league. So no, I won't be returning.

I think one of the biggest blunders of the NFL in allowing the kneeling controversy to continue is that so many people who had been glued to their couches every Sunday for years, suddenly went out and found other, better things to do with their day. Once people get themselves out of that routine, it will be hard to lure them back in, no matter what they do.

When Colin Kaepernick kneeled I waited for the NFL to do something. When it became obvious that the NFL would do nothing - I kneeled over to the TV and changed the channel! I can proudly say that I have not watched another football game since (and I watched them all my life). And the shocker - I don't miss watching ungrateful players making zillions of dollars a year disrespect our great flag.

Michael Vick.

The Falcons fired him only to save face because they knew the outrage that he would bring and then the NFL allowed the Eagles to sign him.

I don't care if he served his time. I wouldn't give a nickel to anyone that supports an ******* like him. He should be digging ditches for minimum wage and consider that better than what woulda happened to him if I was in charge.

I wasn't a big NFL fan but would watch a game if it was a good match up. After Vick got busted and rehired I lost all remaining desire to watch the NFL.

I always thought American football sucked...start-stop start-stop and stand around etc....BORING. Now, "futbol" is fast paced and more exciting. That said, I still join the legions of patriotic citizens who have sworn off all things NFL for their unforgivable disrespect of a nation and a citizenry who have given them so much...building them stadiums and allowing individual players to make multi-million dollar salaries. TBH these new rules wouldn't cut it for me anyway. I'd rather hear honesty. A simple statement like "we really expletived-up big time...now our ratings and our wallets are beginning to realize that...and we're trying not-so-sincerely to simultaneously appease both our ex-fans and our "oppressed" players."

when the 1st one to take a knee wasn't thrown out on his butt the N in the NFL ended.
I was never a big fan and now am opposed to it completely.

I've been a Raiders fan since o was a kid. If the Raiders are on I will watch, otherwise, I have lost interest

I've been growing more and more irritated with the NFL over the years, the entire national anthem thing was just the icing on the cake.

There's far more issues with the game and league as a whole than just the one topic.

I think I watched 1 game last year (vs the entire Bears season the decades before) and I even boycotted the Super Bowl, skipping it for the first time since I've been old enough to watch one.

I don't see this doing any good. From owners who said that they abstained from voting to unions who want to fight this rule because they didn't get a say; no, it only so much poor politics. Add to this mix the advocates who want football banned because of head injuries, I say American Football is on its way out. Very Sad.

Do any of these NOT allow watching NFL games??

Do any of these NOT allow watching NFL games??
I mean on the local level.
But if you know a National policy please mention it.
I my not have names completely correct, but you can get my idea.

1) EM Club
2) NCO Club
3) Officers Club
4) USO
5) American Legion Post
6) VFW

If you want to protest, do it before the game or at halftime. I gave this country 4 years of my life during Vietnam. Quit watching since the Browns kneel better then they play football last year. Bunch of ignorant millionaires. Can remember Jim Brown playing as a kid. Find other things to do on Sunday afternoon now. No more football, Larry

I never forgive a sheep/chicken killing dog. These players are in the same category as far as I'm concerned. I know they would still be kneeling on the inside!

I agree with you on the football players, but dogs are carnivores and to them killing a sheep or chicken is base instinct. There is not morality attached to it. Why hold a grudge against a pooch just for it doing what millions of years of evolution has taught it to do (hunt and eat)?

Kneeling has nothing to do with disrespecting the flag. The players have First Amendmendment rights and are in a position to call attention to serious grievances. I support whatever they choose to do to make their case. If anything, the owners's bowing to public pressure is more of a reason not to watch, but i like the game and will keep watching nevertheless.

Do not fix on the flag, which is a mere symbol. Pay attention to the underlying issues, which are matters of life and death.

To hell with them for disrespecting the flag.

Oh, what's that? They're just protesting the police?

Same answer.

The First Amendment protects you from the government punishing you for your speech. It doesn't protect you from your employer firing you because of the stupid things you say, and it doesn't protect you from hordes of Americans boycotting the business you work for because they failed to punish you for being a moron.

Owner's Code of Ethics:

As a player on this team, you are required to stand at attention, hold your helmet in your left hand, place your right hand over your heart when the American flag is brought onto the field, and while the National Anthem is played. Your failure to respect the American flag will result in contract cancellation.

End of the story.

Aaron Rodgers is the Green Bay franchise. I'll get the score from the website, not the game. I'm done with the NFL. I was at the Viking-Packer game when he was injured. Once was enough, player behavior and attitudes was disgusting.
