New Shield

Another 100 rounds with the shield last night, my shooting is getting better...

I have 850 rounds 750 target and 100 hollow points. Waiting for my holster to arrive and break that in.

I am searching for a holster for my Shield, which one did you get and why?

I purchased the IWB Galco King Tuk I love it, I forget thru the Day the Gun is even on me!, wish I knew about te King Tuk 2 which has a magazine holder in it also. I first had the Galco leather on the belt Holster Combat Model that is very comfortable too, it was good with heavy winter jackets but the gun showed if I did a lot of reaching, the King Tuk doesn,t show at all and should be good for summer months.

Here's my first trip to the range with my new Shield. 115 grain wwb at 7 yds. I'm very happy with it :)

Got my holster today. Very comfortable but I have to tighten my belt so tight to keep my pants up. Any ideas on how to fix that?

Any one tried or have the ported model, if so how are they, and is it too hot to have front night sights on it ?

Yes I had to start wearing suspenders when I started carrying. My hips and butt have moved to my belly and it doesn't matter how tight I pull the 1 3/4" 5.11 gun belt my pants will slide down. I wear a cover shirt and it hides the gun and the suspenders. I will be 70 this year so it doesn't matter it they see them anyway.

That is what I might have to do. I have no behind at all.

Perry makes good suspenders. Since mine are covered by my cover shirt I replaced the snaps with small carabiners that fasten to the pants belt loops. No more having them come unsnapped .

so I got my shield back yesterday post Ma compliant trigger job. He brougt it down to a 5.5 pound pull.
What a difference, I'm not a sniper with this thing but my groupings were way better. I reused a target that was left behind and stuck a splatter target on . most of the shots outside of the black were done by the earlier shooter.
I was pulling way down and to the right , now I'm much more consistent..level (still to the right a bit) but enough to make me like this gun a lot more. I was on the fence about trading it in for a 9mm C
but with the new grip and trigger she is now a keeper. At 30 feet

new grip

once I got a little dialed in I was grouping just off to the right almost dead center.

I have talon rubber grips on underneath(which helps hold this grip in place nicely). It widens it up a bit and helped me considerably today. So far it has stayed in place just fine. On the 21rst of this month I am taking the "Conceal Carry II" class at MFS four hours of defensive work "The class will cover:
- Combat grip, stance & trigger control
- The Draw from multiple positions & concealment
- Speed reloads
- Type 1 & 2 malfunctions and their clearing procedures
- Movement, verbal commands & shooting at the same time"
it's the 2nd of a series of 5 classes.
I'll have a much better idea then. I've shot it twice at the range so far with this grip on ...no problems yet.

Looks like a nice holster. I am trying to find an OWB holster for my Shield. Really don't want to have to get bigger pants to make a IWB work.

I currently use a Fobus Paddle Holster for my M&P 9 FS and my Taurus PT-111 Millennium G2 9mm. They are very comfortable and stay in place nicely. No luck finding one of these so far for my M&P 9 Shield.

Thanks. I didn't want to go up a size either so I lost some weight. My wife and I have been hitting the gym. I wouldn't mind find a nice owb for winter.

The Fobus part number for the Shield is PPS

Hmmmm...that holster looks interesting. I'd like to hear a review after you've worn it for a while.
For my shield I went with the stealthgear onyx.
Super comfy and conceals great (N82 for my full Size .40 also super comfy)

I think I am going to pick up one of these for my shield (for next winter)

I love the looks of this one in particular.

I don't think OWB with a shield will be a problem with our new England winters. Plenty of cover up.
***EDIT actually I just ordered this zlogonje holster :D **
