New Shield

Congrats!!! Love my shield!! Eats everything.
My buddy got a new shield and it did jam on aluminum casings.
Gave him a box of brass and it shot flawlessly!
Just beware!

Another 100 flawless rounds through the Shield. I think it is getting better or should I say I am.

Your targets look a lot like mine. My shots cluster right around center and slightly right but it took me longer to get to this point than it's taken you. Like you I'm left handed but I'm right eye dominant. Add to that arthritic and old. Improvement for me requires tons of practice and experimenting with grip and stance.

Lots of fun learning.

Another 100 rounds. 147 grain fmj's 25 feet.

I think in will be running 147 out of it. 500 flawless rounds. Now on to hollow points.

I'm a righty, so I was going the other way when I first started (low and left). But like you, after a little practice with the grip and time at the range, mine came up and more to the center like they should be. I was using WWB 165 FMJ's but now that I'm getting more accurate (not perfect, but better), I've switched to Hornady Critical Defense. Haven't really noticed any difference in performance between the two. WWB is a little cheaper, which is a good thing for range ammo. The Hornady will be my carry ammo.

So another 100 down range. Went back to 124 gr to see if it was me or the gun. The last time I shot 124 I think it was me.

Still need work but I think it is getting better. Have a private lesson Sunday.

Congrats on the new shield! I've had mine for 4 months now, my first gun, I too am shooting low and left but getting better. Just put 100 flawless rounds through it tonight, it's a great gun, I really like it.

Shot another 100 rounds last night. 124 grain and Federal HST hollow points. No issues with the ammo. Didn't do as well as the previous nights but tried to do what the pro said. I think I will try a combo of things that work for me and some he said. I also was in a hurry which doesn't help.

I do the same thing but I know it's me. I hit the range last weekend with a buddy of mine who is a firearm instructor and he grouped bullseye shots with it right off the bat. We both also found that we actually liked 115 grain better than 124 which really surprised me seeing all of the positive posts online about 124 being more accurate. He had me try a different grip ..and it did help a bit, but I ended up dropping it off with my gunsmith to have the god awful Ma compliant trigger done down to a 5.5 pull (as he did to my FS .40). I'm picking it up on Saturday Morning and hopefully hitting the range saturday afternoon so I'll report back then. :)

Went back to the range today with 147 FMJ and hollow points.

Forty feet

The two on the arm were at 50.

The rest at 25'

I am starting to recognize after the shot what I am doing wrong and try to correct it for the next. Still have some low an right but I know is trigger control.

Nice shooting. I now have 400 rounds through my Shield 9mm. I added Tru-Glo TFO Night Sights to it. Made a big difference and groups are now 4" @ 7 to 10 yards. Next step is to add Talon rubber grip tape that I ordered. "Love my Shield!!"
