Found this one in a local shop. I have always wanted one.
Grips # to gun. It's 1949 I think.
I am happy:):):)

Sorry about the upside down pic.

Give us a Ser# and we'll let you know the year of production, looks like a nice K38.

It's a K22. I will have to get the serial number tomorrow. Gun is not with me at the moment. It's on the grip, but not sure if you can see it in the pic.

Shore is pretty. You will find it to be a good shooter.

I have my Dad's 1947 K-22. Still shoots okay even with a guy older than it shooting.

Made a phone call. Serial # is k 74656. barrel, cylinder and frame match.
Shot it a little bit 24 rds. at the shop, but off hand. I't's better than I am (not that that is hard) :). Can't wait to shoot it off a rest

My #75XXX is tentatively identified as late 1948 or early 1949. It has long been one of my favorite revolvers to shoot. Seems like those early post-War K-frames were all something special from the many posts about them that I've seen here. Congrats on a good score. :D

Cool, Thanks for the dates guys. I'm really happy I lucked into this one. I think it will be a favorite.

My K22 is SN K49725 which dates to 1948. Give us a SN and we'll date yours.

Serial is in one of the above posts. Looks like 4/49 or 5/49. But thanks for looking O.C.
I put some Hogues on it today to save the diamond magnas. I like the grip, but I need to get a wood grip for it. Rubber just does not fit with a 5 screw.:)

OldChief. Interesting serial number that you have I have owned S/N 49194 since 1964 when I was 15 years old. The first firearm that I had ever purchased. Paid $50 for it in excellent shape. All numbers matching and with the original gold box. It has a special place in my safe. Still shoot it regurally and it's still in excellent condition.
