Hi,I gotta know,I have a couple of .38 safety hammerless I really like to shoot but I dont like the grips,too small,I wonder if j frame factory square butt wood grips can fit,I saw one in gunbroker with whate looked like them but am not sure. If these wont work what might? Any help for my fat hands would help me hit the target,I seem to always pull it way too high. HELP PLEASE?:

Safety hammerless grips require their own size. No other factory grip fits. There are aftermarket grip makers that do make grips for the safety hammerless, do a search on handgun grip makers. To increase the size of the grip for more control, try a Tyler T Grip. A J Frame T Grip will fit a safety hammerless.

I don't have both handy to compare, but I think the Safety Hammerless grip frame has the same dimensions as the RB I frame. The bad news is you'd still have to go the custom route to find larger stocks, so agree with trying a grip adapter.

38 Safety Hammerless grips are the same size as all other S&W top break # 2 frame guns, that includes the 38 Single Action, 38 Double Action, and early pre war 32 I frame hand ejectors. Some I frame extended target grips will work on the Safety Hammerless but they are scarce and expensive. The 32 Safety Hammerless is a frame size unto itself and the only grips that fit it are the ones that are specifically made for it.
