NHL STANLEY CUP PLAYOFFS 2018

One more thing.

Thanks to all the posters for keeping this thread civil and free of really nasty comments.

A great group of hockey fans that make this thread what it is.

Lots of funny comments, food ideas and most of all "respect for others that cheer for different teams".

I'd love to take in a game with any of you, excluding one and I do mean that.:)

Now what am I going to do with myself.:cool:

My thought's exactly, what am I going to watch? Baseball (nope) that leaves a bunch of other sports that I'd just as soon poke myself in the eye with a sharp stick. Curling anyone?

I think that it's easy to see that a team like the LVGK will be top-line contenders again next year. What were the odds for them at the beginning of the NHL season, 500-1?

As someone said here yesterday, a puck here, a hit-the-pipe/crossbar there; it's a game that close, that fast. The Knights are one helluva team and I believe that the Caps didn't bargain for such a dramatic series, such determination from a group of young men, such as these. Not bad for a first year team.

Watch out Western Conference...October isn't that far away.

I always really enjoy talking hockey-shop with you guys during the playoffs. Rivalry is fine, but the appreciation you guys all have for the sport is what makes this thread so good every year. Hopefully next year I can get back to the stress of watching the Blackhawks during at least some of the playoffs, but they have some work to do.

A big thank you to our S&W shootin' hockey host/therapist Labworm, for steering us through the entire playoffs.
Thank you so much, LW!

I wish everyone here (even the Caps fans among us :p) an enjoyable, healthy summer.

Looks like everyone is packing up / closing down the thread for the summer, but I would like to ask:
Why was Ryan Reaves a healthy scratch for what turned out to be the final game????? Seems like the line he was on was doing pretty well. Not trying to second guess the coach, just wondering if anyone can shed light on this.

Hoping someone is still checking this thread ...

I suspect it was just the coach trying to shake things up, they had lost 3 games in a row and didn't seem to have the answer for the Capitals. Gotta try something, obviously wasn't the answer.

Hi JF,
I agree with BK that Gallant had to mix it up with Sin City's back against the wall and only one of the four lines having much effect.
I think he just scratched the Ryans as a hail Mary move. Reaves' penalty minutes and pathetic face off avg probably didn't help his case.
Speaking of which, I was shocked that Vegas ended up on the PK so frequently against the Caps.

Ovi & Co. got it done.
