That is a red post front sight.

A few years back, there was a good debate whether this was factory or not. Got the letter to solve it.

The OPs gun has adjustable sights and is number 145252, your letter is for 20493 a fixed sight gun.

He was saying that there was debate as to if his gun was factory. I confirmed with Mr. Jinks that the gun I posted shipped as blue.

I will let you guys know when I get it. I have multiple 4", 5" and 6.5" all blue, Pre 24's, but very seldom see a nickel one, even if it did ship originally blue. That price is not out of line.

It looks great, I would have been very tempted. It looks far better than most re-finished in nickel guns and if it turns out that it is a factory nickel refinish as Lee suggested above, that would make the price attractive. Enjoy it.

I was serious when I said I hope you are pleased with the gun. As usual, Lee has educated me on the why of a price realized on a gun. I had no knowledge of original nickel 24s to be aware of their being rare. I didn't have enough knowledge to justify spending more than I bid.
