I picked this up for less than $400 this week. It is a little finish challenged but I managed to clean it up and make it look presentable. The bore and chambers are perfect and mechanically it's like new. This is the first hand ejector I have owned that has no markings on the frame other than the serial number and assembly numbers. No S&W monogram other than on the grips. I believe the serial number puts it in the teens or early 20s.

Well there's one before and one after on both posts. Sorry for the confusion.

It is from 1919. The monogram had not yet been restored to the side, it having been removed during WWI.

Stocks are correct and quite nice.

Thank you for that info. How long did ot take them to resume putting the logo on the frames again?

IIRC it was in 1920 or 1921. Someone else here may remember more accurately.

I just noticed that Alan (murphydog) stated in another post that the monogram was restored in 1922.
