A brand new 640 with no internal lock is what I dream about. They do have the Pro-Series, but I don't like that overall set-up and keep thinking it's just a matter of time before S&W releases a no-lock standard 640 since just about every other Centennial is available without the lock .
The lock is particularly a really bad idea on the enclosed frame models. Paul Pluff told me they did a run of No-Lock not too long ago for CMP distributors in Michigan item #103690, but they did have any more and I haven't come across any for sale. I occasionally run across pre-2001 640-1's online for sale, but most are pretty old and I don't like buying a used gun if I can't see it first.
