No time for dashes (629s)

My 4" No Dash is on bear and cat duty wearing Pachmayr Presentation grips and fitted with front and rear night sights. It's a true working gun, not a safe queen, and it's not very photogenic.

Well the only 629 I own, very accurate and a pleasure to shoot.

Had a 4" 629 nd on my short list for years.
Their Achilles heel was reportedly soft yoke metal.
P&R 629's are not commonly encountered but the high water mark imo was the five inch 629-3/629-4 classic and classic dx

I found a 4" 629-0 at a show about ten years ago. I had a 4" 629-1 but it wasn't P&R. I negotiated the seller down to $800 and bought it. At the next show I sold the -1 for $1,000. I still have the no dash and it ain't going anywhere.

I have a -3 5" DX. Very well balanced and nice shooter. Keep an eye on the classifieds

Thanks much, Lowriderfxr. I'll settle for my 629-1 Iditarod S&W setup. I'll just name her Stacie Dash One. Always knew it was special.

The best sidearm of any type I have ever handled and fired was a 6" 629 no-dash that belong to a friend. It was rifle-like accurate and the action was truly unbelievable. He said no work had been done on it. If that is the case, whomever at S&W put it together was having a very good day.
